This is my post for #freewriters 2856 prompt put it in reverse hosted by @mariannewest
We had an old boat trailer sitting here, and I wanted it moved. My husband is off camping again, so he was not here to help me. I could not get my truck into this spot and make the turn I needed to make. I tried to pull it out by hand, but I could not get it to move.
I thought about it and decided to try to put the tongue of the trailer up on the wagon and pull it. As soon as I got it to move, the front of the wagon went up into the air. I had to weigh it down, and of course, I forgot to take pictures while doing it. I kept pulling, and it started moving forward, and I got it pulled out to our driveway, where I could back my truck up to it.
The trailer tongue takes a 1 7/8 ball, but the one on my truck is a 2 inch. To hold it in place, I tightly wrapped the tow chains around my ball and hooked them into each other. It worked good going straight.
But then I had to back up with it, and I figured as soon as I put it in reverse it would damage my tag or truck, so I placed a board between the tag and the ball. This saved my new tag.
I put a stick in the tire sitting on the front of the trailer so I could see it when backing up. I tried to put my tailgate down, but the latch on the trailer was frozen in the up position and hit the tailgate, so it could not go down.
These pineapple plants were in two pots, they gave me pineapples this year. These plants will not have any more pineapples, but they will produce more plants. One had a new plant already growing on it. This is why I wanted the boat trailer moved, I am going to use this area for pineapples, they love a sandy soil.
There was a weed mat here, and with a lot of effort, I got it pulled up, and under it I found several of these things. The ball thing in the middle is soft, and the shell is hard. It was closed around the soft part, but opened after I picked it up. According to Google Lens, it is one of these, Myriostoma coliforme or barometer earthstar, or Astraeus pteridis. It is a type of fungus. They all look so close, but I think it resembles Astraeus pteridis the most, aka, false earthstar. This was the first time finding these.
