My response to the @Indiaunited Contest - Theme: Comparing Hive with centralized social media platforms

It has been 7+ years for me on Hive and from the time I started on Hive, my interactions on other social media platforms have reduced drastically. Majorly the activity I do over there is promoting my Airbnb business, else putting up private content is just once in a way. I believe that Hive has a very good potential in comparison to other social media platforms because here one can express their views freely whereas earn at the same time, on other social media platforms one can only put up their content, but not earn anything out of it.
Hive has not been getting the visibility it deserves, else I feel that it can soar up to new levels. Also the other big difference I see is majority of the people want to publish short content or only photo content, which is easier on other platforms, like Instagram has reels and stories features, which makes it attractive for users to put up real time stories also. Hive is a blogging platform and hence there cannot be a direct comparison also that can be made. It can be compared to YouTube to an extent, again YouTube attracts people because there one can record a blog easily and put it up and there is variety of content one gets on YouTube so the user network is wider. Hive can also bring in these features, there is a vlog feature but still the adaptability within Hive itself is very low for that.

I believe that comparing Hive to other social media platforms directly is not very ideal, because it's purpose it blogging, whereas if you see the mainstream platforms like FB, Insta, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, Snapchat, Pinterest, Telegram, they all have different purpose, these platforms also have blogging capacity but their other features over powers it.
If we compare it with other blogging platforms like WordPress, then it is doing fairly well. Hive has been getting good attention from the bloggers community across the world. While we say Hive is decentralized, there are many centralized actions that takes place. Because of the financial dynamics involved with Hive, yes it is complicated at times but then I guess that would happen with any other platform as well.
Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸
