No hay duda que el sorpresivo resultado de la primera jornada en dónde Venezuela goleó a Inglaterra, hizo que quienes siguen a la selección en esta categoría y en este importante evento futbolístico, pensara que el equipo estuviera en un nivel superior a Egipto y Haití, las otras 2 selecciones que conformaban el grupo, en especial el equipo representa de Concacaf que recibió goleadas por parte de Egipto e Inglaterra y por eso, la confianza de una victoria de la Vinotinto contra los haitianos era más que confirmada, pero esto es fútbol y estaba claro que la selección venezolana a presentar un equipo alternativo y sentirse superiores, posiblemente pudiera ofrecer ventajas contra un equipo herido y que estaba preparado para irse del mundial demostrando una mejor versión.

Se que al escuchar o ver el resultado final del encuentro entre Venezuela y Haití, más lo descrito en el párrafo anterior, posiblemente se pueda pensar que el encuentro fue placentero y que solo hubo pasajes de desconcentración de los venezolanos y acierto por parte del seleccionado haitiano, lo cual es cierto, pero debe ser explicado en que momentos ocurrieron cada una de las caracterisricas dichas; primeramente el juego fue placentero para la vinotinto que consiguió anotar dos goles en los primeros 14 minutos del encuentro; justamente ese buen arranque por parte de Venezuela vaticinó una nueva goleada que sufriría Haití, pero la selección de Concacaf decidió hacer frente a su rival y mostrar, convicción al atacar y defender lo cual ocasionó mucho problemas a Venezuela.

Haití en el primer tiempo lucho la posesión del balón mostrando aspereza en la defensa lo cual incómodo a Venezuela en varias ocasiones del encuentro, esa táctica tuvo premio al anotar su primer gol del encuentro antes de finalizar el primer tiempo lo cual le daba esperanzas de poder concretar el empate, una acción que no llegó de manera rápida, ya que se tuvo que esperar al minuto 26 del segundo tiempo; lamentablemente para Haití, el desgaste físico en más de 70 minutos hizo evidencia y el nulo aporte de su cuerpo técnico en realizar cambios fue lo que influyó a que su juego tanto en defensa como ataque disminuyera, cosa contraria que sucedió con Venezuela que al entrar en el campo, jugadores titulares del equipo, se notó el cambio y Venezuela pudo demostrar mejor juego ofensivo lo cual les llevó primeramente a tomar la ventaja y después sellar la victoria y el liderato del grupo.

La actuación de Venezuela en la fase de grupos posiblemente se puede definir como de mayor a menor; ahora eso sería una manera poco objetiva para señalar el trabajo del equipo conformado por juveniles, algo que pareciera a periodistas deportivos venezolanos se les olvida a generar una crítica que está lejos de ser constructiva; los jugadores que son parte de la selección mundialista están en un momento de pleno aprendizaje, de experimentar ser parte de la selección y lo que han ofrecido en los tres encuentros disputados es más que normal, aunque si estoy convencido que el resultado y la euforia obtenida contra Inglaterra pareciera que hizo más daño que una derrota y eso conlleva a generar expectativas por este equipo; personalmente espero que el trabajo del cuerpo técnico siga demostrado el correcto de desempeño al ayudar al equipo que están en el campo de juego, que demuestre virtudes al momento de verse superados y que tengan la convicción de hacer un buen trabajo, que muestren humildad antes de sentirse grandes o potentes, que tengan los pies en la tierra, que sepan de dónde vienen y visualicen a dónde quieren llegar, esa es la mentalidad que necesita Venezuela para tratar de superar cada obstáculo y así seguir adelante.
