Tal como ocurrió el torneo clasificatorio al Mundial de Fútbol de Brasil en el 2014, la selección de Venezuela perdió la gran oportunidad de clasificar al repechaje que es la relevante oportunidad más que ofrece la FIFA como ente organizador y que se convirtió en la meta para La Vinotinto, una la cual y en mi opinión, da una sensación de derrotismo por qué al final no se tiene una confirmación de la participación, ya que es un solo encuentro que como todos puede ser favorable o no; ese proyecto de alcanzar esa importante instancia de la competición y digo importante por la oportunidad brindada, creo que no debería ser la meta principal de cualquier selección de fútbol, pero lamentablemente para la selección de mi país no hay otra posibilidad más, sino el alcanzar esa posición y cuando esa es la meta para clasificar, eso me hace pensar que se tiene una mentalidad perdedora y al final eso es lo que se termina obteniendo.
Venezuela comenzó y terminó este torneo clasificatorio siendo derrotado por la selección de Colombia; el resultado de la última jornada el cual fue de 6 a 3 a favor de la selección cafetera, reflejo no solo los problemas defensivos de La Vinotinto, sino la pobre mentalidad y concentración de sus jugadores; este es un equipo sumamente débil de mentalidad en donde siempre se demostró la deficiencia táctica lo cual ocasionó la gran cantidad de derrotas que sufrió Venezuela en lo que fue la parte final de la primera ronda de encuentros y por supuesto en la segunda ronda, la cual siempre será relevante la cantidad de juegos perdidos en condición de visitante, un factor más que lapidario para que Venezuela nuevamente quede fuera del Mundial.

Es lamentable la participación de la selección venezolana en los últimos dos años en este torneo, la involución de un equipo que comenzó de buena manera su participación en la clasificación fue algo que generó nuevamente esperanza en la afición después de dos torneos clasificatorios en dónde se terminó de último lugar, pero al no haber cambios profundos en momentos precisos, en dónde se siguió contando con jugadores que no tiene lo necesario para ser parte de la selección o por lo menos que ofrezcan compromiso, actitud, **inteligencia** y por supuesto fútbol, era de esperar que el umbral conseguido en los 6 primeros juegos no sería superado y lo que se experimentó fue una caída estrepitosa hasta quedar sin nada; justamente esa nulidad en accionar y generar necesarios cambios sea de staff técnico y la convocatoria de jugadores, fue el factor lapidario para la meta mundialista de La Vinotinto.

Más que tristeza y enojo, el sentimiento que más está presente es el de la frustración porque por varios encuentros en este torneo en donde se obtuvo derrotas, deje de emitir mi opinión por lo repetitivo que sería mis publicaciones al señalar los problemas en generar jugadas ofensivas y los errores amateurs que cometieron en defensa una y otra vez, un mal que ha perseguido a la selección en los últimos años y en donde siempre se enfocó mi crítica a la convocatoria porque al seguir contando con jugadores limitados tácticamente, es de esperar que esos mismos errores nuevamente hagan apariencia y pierda muchos juegos; esto me hace ver La Vinotinto como selección y me refiero a jugadores, entrenadores, directivos y prensa deportiva, no está preparada para enfrentar un torneo de esta magnitud y se seguirá deambulando en torneos clasificatorios hasta el momento en que alguien diga basta se comience con un proyecto serio, se le ayude a jugadores a alcanzar su potencial futbolístico (junto al económico) para que puedan crecer y así poder finalmente llegar al Mundial de Fútbol, esperemos que si el país por completo tenga un cambio para bien, esto también signifique que en el fútbol profesional venezolano, existe un obligado nuevo comienzo para motivar no a mi generación, sino a la del futuro.
