El vil ataque de energúmenos que usan al fútbol dejó un gran número de heridos, la mayoría personas inocentes que fueron al estadio a disfrutar de un encuentro de fútbol, personas que solamente querían apoyar a su equipo, pero que al final se convirtieron en víctimas del egoísmo de violentos que todavía reciben el apoyo de directivos que proporciona medios para viajar, estar dentro de los estadios y tener impunidad por los hechos que realizan; las imágenes de las actuaciones de los falsos hinchas son más que impresionante, imágenes que pudieron ser peores, ya que el ataque fue constante, en dónde se arrojó botellas, piedras, bombas de estruendo y demás hacia personas indefensas y todo esto fue posible a la nula seguridad del estadio con no contaba con una gran presencia de efectivos policiales, ni mucho menos con seguridad privada, ya que según fue prohibida por Conmebol; justamente el no contar con cualquier presencia de seguridad fue lo que posibilitó a que grupos identificados con ambos clubes realizaran los horrendos ataques que llevaron no solo a suspender el juego, sino hasta posiblemente eliminar a ambos clubes de la actual competición.
