In order to develop a liking to something, I believe it takes time and a certain mindset. I was like you, I used to not be the best at eating vegetables before, and I would only eat what I like on my plate.
This brings me to some of the tips I have been using to get more of the vegetables in my system.
1. Eat it with what you like
Whenever I go for salad, I would always make sure there are also things I like on the plate. I remember the first time I actually felt like I could eat salad was when I was introduced to caesar salad haha. The fact that it has chicken, parmasan, and lots of dressing has helped me tremendously. Other times I would make my own salad and add bacon, boiled eggs, sweet corn, and cheddar on my salad. Once I develop a more positive feeling about some vegetables in a salad, it makes it easier each time to eat it and eventually make it part of your normal meals. Now I even reduce the amount of dressing!
2. Blend your veggies
That doesn't sound too good right? How about adding some fruits to it? I became in love with smoothie is probably orange juice + banana + spinach. And it's actually really fun to explore other combinations or fruits and vegetables.
I cheated on my veggies today and went for fresh berries milkshake π
3. Create it with love and eat it with positive attitude
Make your veggie dish colorful and appealing. This helps increase your appetite. Better or worse you're doing your body a favor. These vegetables contain vitamins and fibers that your body loves. They help you stay healthy as they are packed with antioxidants and nutrients. So get at it with positive attitude and you'll be just fine βΊοΈ
However, the most important thing about life is to do whatever makes you happy. So just be mindful and don't forget to take care of your body because your body loves you!
