Traveling is really my outlet when I’m stress and when I need something to divert my attention from all of my adult responsibilities. Last weekend I was very lucky to experience one of the unique travel destination in Cebu, the Sachiko's Little Kyoto. Let me share my bit Japanese experience.

Japan is one of my dream travel destination and thinking about it, it makes me wonder when and how on earth can I taste authentic Japanese travel experience with my tight budget. Gladly, my bf’s family discovered Sachiko’s Little Kyoto in Cebu City. It was a bit far from the main road or highway but the travel was definitely worth it.

As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by their polite staff and leaded us to their parking area. Good thing their parking area was free and secure so we don’t have to worry about our vehicle. The tourist spot is open until 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, giving the tourist a generous amount of time to enjoy the place. We were also told that outside foods and drinks are not allowed as we go inside, also smoking is strictly prohibited.

They have Filipino staffs but they greet the tourist in Japanese language. I was actually amaze because they sound natural and good in speaking Japanese, I mainly thought that they were Japanese. Before you can explore the whole place, first you have to pay for the entrance fee which cost 100 pesos. If you’ll bring children aged 3 and below, they can explore the place for free.

They also offer Japanese authentic food menu, milk tea, hot and iced coffee, fruit juices, sodas and tea. You will have a wide selection on their menu so you really don’t have to worry arriving at the place hungry. Also, be mindful of their safety rules and reminders as you explore the place.

One Japanese feature that highlights my travel was the statue of Hatchiko, the famous Japanese dog. Hatchiko was a Japanese Akita dog known for his remarkable loyalty to his ower, HIdesaburo Ueno whom he continued to wait for 9 years. They also have the statues of the famous anime characters of One Piece . I’m not really into anime so I didn’t really paid attention to it but my boyfriend was really happy seeing those.

The statue of Lying Buddha was also very famous. It shows the Buddha in his last earthly moments awaiting the journey to Nirvana (heaven) after achieving enlightenment. Japanese billboards were also displayed in the place.

The whole place was surrounded by a touch of Japanese culture and beautiful garden. The place looks so lovely and colorful by the different flowers and plants. One you shouldn’t miss about the place was the breathtaking view, the overlooking mountains of the near barangays.

As we were going to leave the place, we saw a freedom board (I think) where you can put a sticky note written our thoughts or reviews about visiting Sachiko’s Little Tokyo. My overall experience was very unique and satisfying as I get a little taste of my dream travel destination in Sachiko’s Little Tokyo.
