If I asked you right now, “Who inspires you the most?” I’m sure a face or a name would pop up in your mind immediately. It might be someone close, it might be someone far, but we all have that person and I do as well.🙂 I still remember one evening when my dad called us all together. We were sitting in the living room, half-tired from the day. We knew what the meeting was all about, after all; this was not the first time. After eating, he started with the usual and ended by looking at us seriously “Nobody is coming to save you. You don’t have anybody. You are responsible for your life. Please don’t depend on me, don’t depend on family, don’t depend on anyone. I have done my part, I am still doing my part, but the rest is left to you.” Those words sounded heavy to me at first, but as time went on, I realized he wasn’t trying to scare us, he was preparing us for what lays ahead. He was teaching us that life will not hand us anything for free, that waiting for help will only keep us stuck, and that our choices and actions determine where we end up and of course, you will agree that it's the truth. As you've already guessed, my dad is the most inspirational person in my life. He is a man of hard work because you will never find him being lazy or idle. He is always up and doing, always putting his hands to something. One of his outstanding beliefs is that diligence is the only way to build a life worth living. By his example, he shows me that excuses don’t pay bills, and that persistence is better than luck. But then, he’s not just a man of action, he is also a man of wisdom. As the closest to him, I do sit with him most times and we will discuss a lot of things, and believe me, his words are not long lectures, but they are short, direct words that sink in and stays within me. what strikes me most is that he doesn’t only talk he lives it. When he says “work hard,” you see him working. When he says “be responsible,” you see how he carries his own responsibilities. The most outstanding part of him that inspires me most is his sense of responsibility. He doesn’t believe in shifting blame or waiting for handouts. He believes in pushing forward, no matter the obstacles. That mindset is something I carry with me, and it shapes how I approach my own life. I can say without doubt that he is the most inspirational person in my life and it's not because he is perfect, but because he is consistent and he keeps pushing us to do better. That is what makes him stand out to me, and that is just one of a few reasons why he is my most inspirational person.
