I'm really enjoying waking up very early—while it's still dark, around 4 a.m.
I've been doing it for several days now, and it gives me ample time to reflect, organise my day, write, edit photographs, read, and even take a short stroll around my neighbourhood. These photos are from my street.
There are so many inspiring little details to be found, but I'm already considering broadening my morning circuit.
I also feel that the day is more productive for me.
There are plenty of birds to photograph—you just need a great deal of patience. And of course, you have to stay alert. But if you're like me, breathing deeply and closing your eyes to sharpen all your other senses... well, naturally the birds will fly past and you won't see a thing. 🤣
Haha... sometimes they appear in pairs, dancing and playing, and I suppose they're in their special moments of courtship... it's a marvellous spectacle to witness.
And I really like backlighting, as you can see.
The soft “currucucú” of the doves is quite endearing in the morning. 😁
Pitirre (This bird, when it sings, sounds as if it's saying its own name, I suppose that's why it's called that.)
🙃
And on another note...
These are yesterday’s stats, dear fellow cyclists. Collected via my smartwatch and the app I’ve installed on my phone. Although it syncs with Strava, I find that the data doesn’t appear there in quite the same way. So I’ve decided to stop sharing it.

It’s a single route—there and back. What happened is that at one point I paused it to prevent the GPS from stopping and losing the data. I left home to print some postcards, dropped by a friend’s house to leave them so she could take care of sending them 😉 and then headed to Xtasis ice cream shop to buy this container of orange-pineapple ice cream.

🤤
At first, I thought I’d eat it there, sitting on a little wall next to my bike, but then I said to myself: nah… I need a better view.
So I pedalled off to the coast, at 1st Street and 70.

I was reading through the information about the training sessions offered by the Mi Fitness app. Honestly, I take cycling quite leisurely. In fact, I often stop around the city to enjoy the views and take photos… funny thing is, I barely took any pictures yesterday during my ride.
I was in a bit of a rush at first—I didn’t want to disturb my friend too much, as she had a trip ahead and needed to rest. So the task of dropping off the postcards had to be quick, without lingering at her place.
And then, well, I wanted to head to the sea. It’s so restorative to be near the water, to hear the waves breaking on the shore. And that scent…
Now I’m getting ready for another day of pedalling. So I’ll say my goodbyes for now—sending warm greetings and good vibes as we head into the weekend.
Make it a memorable one.
