Can I say I was training when I covered 10.09 km in 0:33:51, crossing a noisy city with traffic lights and where the drivers are not at all friendly? Maybe. Imagine, I told a taxi driver today: "Hey, next time I'll let you run over me, anyway... you almost ran me over a moment ago."

He had stopped to pick up a passenger, and I spoke to him directly, looking him in the eye as I passed by his window.

Okay. I'm still unharmed. No need to worry. And the workout was successful. I made it to the burger joint alive 😁... 100% recommended, by the way, in the Havana neighborhood of Vedado and called Flavio Fast. The address is 5th Street, corner of A. A snack like that for about $3 and a few cents isn't bad, right?

It's an XL mamey smoothie, served in a Bucanero beer mug. It was well made, delicious πŸ˜‹...but, you can choose, there are other fruit options. And you can order the burger with various vegetable toppings, tomato, cucumber, lettuce, and cheese, too. There are chicken and also pork ones. This one is pork, and I just added a little mustard.

Important information for cyclists: There is parking.

I had a lock in my backpack and put it on my bike, also, from where I sat, I could watch it. Anyway the man in charge was doing his job well. There was nothing to worry about.

I was so happy with this reward! My heart was in my chest after this much-needed stop to regain my strength. And yes, this snack was the reward I gave myself for getting the civil registry clerk to correct a mistake on a document I needed for a procedure in less than 20 minutes, after pedaling for about 33 minutes. I hadn't even noticed the error some days ago... I'm either very distracted or I've lost my ability to observe everything in detail.

Well... water under the bridge no longer moves windmills 🀣. So, with my tummy full and my heart happy, I then pedaled down a street I like because it feels very cool along most of its length, 19th Street, with trees on both sides that offer plenty of shade. This car, or what's left of it... made me stop.

πŸ˜€ Isn't it striking?

Of course, the training continued. Hahaha... but I was relaxed. I stopped at a few places to take photos and at the Chinese cemetery. Since I only carry one bottle of water in my bike's thermos holder, I was already running out, and the sun is really harsh here at midday, so I had to head home.

I wasn't in such a hurry anymore... however, the route I chose to return had two or three steep slopes. The most difficult one was the one from 26th Avenue to the sports city.

When I got home, I drank about two glasses of water and some mango juice. I made lunch for my dog. I didn't feel like eating anything... just drinking cold drinks. I took a cold bath. It felt very restorative, but it made me incredibly sleepy. I lay down on the bed to look at the photos from the day and fell asleep with my phone on me.

I think I woke up around 6 or 7 pm and made myself a meal consisting of chicken in sauce, rice, and avocado. I ate it while watching the movie Wild Robot.

A quiet night... we didn't escape the blackout, but I could still relax with these other rewards... πŸ˜‰
