You should zoom in on your own landscape

Good morning, 😃

I’m waking up. I haven’t yet placed the coffee in the pot, nor the pot on the stove, nor has the click of the magneto that lights it brought the first splash of colour to the soundtrack of my little home. The black liquid hasn’t begun to bubble gently through the inner conduit of the coffee maker, and of course, I haven’t had even a sip of the coffee I so love to enjoy each day while reading and commenting on Hive posts. But just by writing and thinking about it, I can almost taste it.

As for Hive, I’m certain that pleasant moments and new lessons await me, and for that, I already feel grateful today.

These photos speak of life—and also of the danger hidden in the simple act of living, how risky it becomes if we don’t make the necessary improvements along the way. But they also speak of how remaining still is even more dangerous, becoming just another victim of circumstance.

You can view your own landscape from afar, blend into everything around you and be just one more—but you can also zoom in on your own photo, to see up close those colourful details that make your life a unique treasure.

(Look inside these two images I captured while walking along the Malecón in Havana, on an ordinary day this September, and try to understand my message.)

The cup is still there, on the counter in my kitchen...empty, waiting… but it can’t wait any longer.

Here are more landscapes from my city for you.
