Day 24 of 100 for @d-pend's Poetry Challenge
Learning To Laugh
Manic thoughts, a life in review. A jumbled mess of pieces that await. Will the player step up - take his place - laugh in God's face, laugh till he's blue?
It's not found in the good book, though one can read it between lines. Perhaps dreamed into existence, dreamed into view. Just like me, just like you. Like all the good things we do. Such as laugh in God's face. Laugh till we're blue.
A child laughs. It's more than enough; he hasn't learned to forget. On a photon of hope, he rides the waves to a destiny renewed. From a picture he painted with all the colours he could choose. He learned to laugh in God's face. He learned to laugh till he's blue.
Reading Notes: This poetry is new and written exclusively for the 100 Day Poetry Challenge, which is explained in more detail here and here.
