The "feminine" idea of the Pleiades exists in other parts of Oceania. For example, on the Gilbert Islands they believe that the constellation Pleiades Nei Auti is inhabited by women. According to the myth, the woman Nei Auti is trying to attract the attention of the god Rimvimata the star Antares. But he hides every time she comes: when the Pleiades is in the sky, Antares is not visible. In addition, the star woman Nei Auti sends flies to Earth, there are especially many of them in the first months of the year, when the Pleiades are in the sky. The rope figure depicting this constellation also resembles a fly Winged God Antares Rimvimata, or Antares from the constellation Scorpio, is the second of the two main calendar stars for the inhabitants of the Gilbert Islands. When Antares appears at sunset, replacing the Pleiades, this is a sign of the middle of the year, the hottest time. The Maori Antares is the star god Rehua in the form of a bird with two wings. In both Jewish and Hindu traditions, the constellation was perceived as an image consisting of seven components, correlated with space, sound and action.
