This week marks the final stretch of exams for my children and with the school buses no longer operating in our area, that means I’ve taken on the role of full-time driver. The day is chopped into pieces: quick drop-offs, focused pick-ups, and moments of waiting in between. But instead of sitting idle, I’ve made it a mission to keep moving.
Today, I managed to squeeze in my steps, and because I was going to build up easy, of course I did my first run in three years! It was a bold move with the thermometer hitting 30°C during a heatwave here in Belgium, but something in me said go for it. And so I did.
I passed by beautiful sights: a peaceful boat gliding through the canal from my own hometown of Antwerpen, wildflowers blooming along the path, and a stunning historical building that caught my eye. I even took a moment to snap a close-up of a bright pink flower for Melissa a small splash of colour on a hot, determined day.
Almost 10 000 steps taken, and one proud runner cooling down under the trees. Some days are made to be endured. This one, I chose to enjoy
