Among so many outings these days, mostly due to my daughter's return to school, I enjoyed the time to go shopping alone, which I personally prefer. I was also able to visit the shore of our immense lake to take some photographs.

This section is a must when going to the city center; it is currently undergoing restoration, mostly due to cleaning the shoreline. The lake's water is not clear or blue like the sky; it is green, with hints of brown. It is not suitable for swimming, but simply to be admired for its immensity.

I like visiting the lakeshore because there is always a great breeze, and there are ancient trees that are part of the history of our municipality, Cabimas. Lake Maracaibo is home to a lot of oil industry waste, because Cabimas is an area where oil and gas continue to be exploited in large quantities, primarily from the depths of this lake, which is deeply polluted.

In recent months, the shore has received attention from government officials and environmental groups alike, so that this space can be used for recreation for children and adults, enjoying good food while listening to the crash of the waves.

I have hundreds of memories of this shore, which I came to as a child with my grandparents, mother, siblings, uncles, my daughter, husband, and friends. We have all passed by this coast that holds hundreds of memories.

Ésta parte es un paso obligatorio al ir al centro de la ciudad, ahora está en proceso de recuperación más que todo de limpieza de la orilla. El agua del lago no es transparente, ni azul como el cielo, es verde, con toques marrones, no son aguas aptas para bañarse, simplemente para ser admiradas por su inmensidad.

Me gusta visitar la orilla del lago porque siempre sopla mucha brisa, existen árboles antiguos que forman parte de la historia de nuestro municipio Cabimas. El lago de Maracaibo alberga muchos residuos de la industria petrolera, porque Cabimas es una zona donde se sigue explotando petróleo y gas en grandes cantidades, principalmente es extraído de las profundidades de éste lago que está más que contaminado.

Estos últimos meses la orilla ha recibido atención por parte de gobernantes, también grupos ambientalistas, para que éste espacio sirva para la recreación de niños y adultos, disfrutar buena comida mientras se escucha el golpe de las olas.

Tengo cientos de momentos de ésta orilla a la que he venido de niña en compañía de mis abuelos, mamá, hermanos, tíos, de mi hija, esposo, amigos, todos hemos pasado por ésta costa que guarda cientos de recuerdos.
