Being Dariana's mom has been a path of learning, teaching, discovery, but above all, a lot of love 🧡. My 11-year-old daughter is changing physically. Ever since she was little, I've even talked to her about her body, about its strength, that it's constantly growing, and this is another stage she'll experience thanks to her normal development. It's essential to build trust not only in me as a mother, but also in herself to avoid traumas with the physical changes she's going through.
We usually discuss these topics while watching a teenage girl on TV going through developmental changes, and movies related to this topic. My sister has played a fundamental role in guiding me through humor, hehe, but teaching me that nothing bad is happening; on the contrary, it's a beautiful stage that doesn't have to be uncomfortable.
I've always said that I don't remember who taught me how to use a pad when I got my first period. However, when I was 15, when I went through this experience, I had a best friend who probably guided me because she had gone through it years before; my mom was always working. The fact is that my daughter tells me about her changes, what she sees differently, what new things she's experiencing, and that makes me happy because she trusts me, my advice, and whatever I can guide her through.
This self-care thing is something she's still learning. Personal and intimate hygiene is essential at this stage. She should develop healthy habits to make this process as natural as possible. This includes using a pad, wearing comfortable clothing during her period, and even talking about her discomfort when that happens in case she has to do physical activities at school. She should be there for all of that. Prepared, although it doesn't have to be a recipe, because she will also create her own rules.
It's important to build security and self-confidence in her so that she can see the changes in her body as normal. She is a girl who is experiencing changes typical of the stage she is about to reach. She is a beautiful girl, not only physically but also in terms of values and emotions. Ser mamá de Dariana ha sido un camino de aprendizajes, enseñanzas, descubrimiento, pero sobre todo de mucho amor 🧡. Mi hija a sus 11 años está cambiando físicamente, entrando a la pubertad son muchas las hormonas que se activan, algo que trato de que vea con normalidad para evitar incomodidades que no tienen que surgir.
Evitó hablar desde lo técnico porque le causaría más dudas y preguntas en vez de respuestas, eso no quiere decir que no llame las cosas por su nombre, como en el caso de la menstruación o el vello, debe saber cómo se llaman para que cuando lo escuche de otras personas no se sorprenda o sienta incómoda, lo vea normal. Es importante que se vaya familiarizando con estos nombres.
Desde más pequeña incluso le he hablado de su cuerpo, de su fuerza, que está en constante crecimiento, y ésta es una etapa más que vivirá gracias a su normal desarrollo, es esencial crear confianza no solo en mí como mamá, sino en ella misma para evitar traumas con los cambios físicos que vive.
Por lo general tratamos estos temas mientras vemos en la TV alguna chica adolescente con cambios por su desarrollo, películas que se relacionen con éste tema, también mi hermana ha tenido un papel fundamental orientando desde lo jocoso, Jejeje, pero enseñando que nada malo está pasando, al contrario es una bonita etapa que no tiene que ser incómoda.
Siempre he comentado que no recuerdo quien me enseñó a utilizar una toalla para el momento que llegó mi primer periodo menstrual, sin embargo a los 15 años que viví ésta experiencia, tenía una mejor amiga que seguramente ella me orientó porque había pasado años antes por eso, mi mamá siempre trabajaba. El caso es que mi hija me cuenta sus cambios, lo que ve diferente, lo nuevo que le aparece y eso me alegra porque confía en mí, en mis consejos, en lo que pueda orientar.
Esto del autocuidado es algo que sigue aprendiendo, la higiene personal e íntima es escencial en ésta etapa, ella debe ir creando hábitos saludables para que éste proceso sea lo más natural posible, como debe utilizar una toalla, llevar ropa cómoda los momentos de su menstruación, incluso hablar de sus molestias cuando eso pase en el caso de que tenga que cumplir con actividades físicas en el colegio, para todo eso debe estar preparada, aunque no tiene que ser una receta, porque ella también creara sus propias reglas.
Es importante construir en ella seguridad y autoconfianza para que vea con normalidad los cambios en su cuerpo, es una niña que está viviendo cambios propios a la etapa que está por llegar a ella, es una niña preciosa no solo físicamente sino a nivel de valores, emociones, es una dulce princesa que vive una transición, que con el apoyo de mamá será una etapa bonita que seguiremos compartiendo juntas. Habrán muchos más temas o inquietudes con ésta edad pero se que Daríana tiene conocimiento en muchas cosas.
Son muchas preguntas las que se dan por estos días, el porque de los cambios, si sentirá algún dolor cuando llegue su periodo, saldrá más vello, como lo cortará🤔🤔🤔🤔, pero se que lo está manejando poco a poco, además estos cambios están pasando en una edad donde la conciencia es mayor, por eso tantas interrogantes, conocer su cuerpo es importante, en ocasiones revisamos libros de educación para la salud, me pregunta como se llaman las partes del cuerpo, en fin, estamos en #modolibro abierto, Jejeje, sin embargo me gusta vivir cada momento con mi hija, ella sabe que cuenta conmigo para todo, en éste camino no le fallaré. Estamos juntas en esto, y considero que vamos por buen camino con pequeños pasos.
