### Plot
The anime begins by showing us a train station with a group of people getting off a train, among them a girl with a dazzling smile and bright red hair. Instead of sitting in the shade at the station, she decides to wait on a small hill nearby where the sun shines, but there is a very leafy tree. A man in a carriage named **Matthew** comes to pick her up and takes her to her new home, **Green Gables** in **Avonlea**, **Prince Edward Island**, **Canada**. However, when they arrive, Mathew's sister, **Marilla Cuthbert**, welcomes them and sees that it is not a boy, but a girl. This, being a mistake on the part of the adoption center, causes little **Anne Shirle**y's happiness to suddenly disappear from her face... but her attitude and personality that she showed at the beginning convince them to accept her.

Don't ask me what I saw in this anime when I first started watching it on emission because I have no idea. Maybe I was looking for anime with a different genre or theme than usual, or maybe it was simply because I could see that the animation was going to be high quality (which it was). What I do know is that, after watching it, I was won over by how interesting and beautiful the story is, not to mention how good it looks. Clearly, it's not a work that everyone will be interested in, as it doesn't have the kind of drama that many would expect from a mystery or suspense work. Nor does it have the typical romance that is popular in the anime industry right now.
As I said at the beginning, it's an apparent and simple slice of life with a simple story, but at the same time very enjoyable to watch. I would say it is the perfect work to awaken that romantic side that everyone has at some point in their lives. Although, beyond being a novel, it would be a unique story of a dreamy girl who has to face problems in real life while becoming disillusioned and growing up over time. Despite how calm and simple it appears to be, this anime deals with very deep and realistic themes such as friendship, trust, honesty, responsibilities, the passage of time, and love. Watching it is like embarking on an adventure full of non-stop emotions from beginning to end.

Lo que sí sé es que, luego de verla, me convenció por lo interesante que es su historia y lo hermosa que es a su vez, sin mencionar lo bien que se ve. Claramente, no es una obra que a todo el mundo le interese ya que no tiene un tipo de drama que muchos esperarían de una obra de misterio o suspenso. Tampoco tiene un romance típico de esos que son populares ahora en esta industria del anime.

At first, you may find it difficult to watch this anime due to its slow pace and its different characters, especially **Anne Shirley**. At least at the beginning, this protagonist proves to be a cheerful person with a great imagination that she always lets herself be carried away by. But she also has a way of speaking and expressing herself that, as a child, causes some discomfort, at least in my particular case. I don't know, maybe it's because she's so exaggeratedly dramatic, expressive, or sentimental that she becomes such an unforgettable character. I guess that's why she's the protagonist of this anime, obviously. It's with the passage of time and the episodes that she changes and becomes less noisy.
Leaving Anne aside, we also get to know a variety of unique characters both in Avonlea and outside the island. Some stand out more than others, such as **Mariella** and **Matthew**, **Diana** and **Gilbert**. You'll laugh with some and cry with others, but they all have something to say here, and I think that's something special about this particular work. Of course, in many **Slice of Life** stories, it's normal to see the stories focus on developing secondary characters, but in this case, it's done in a very interesting way because you get to empathize quite a bit with each one. And the most curious thing of all is that many of the cases and situations shown are common in everyday life.

That's why when it's time to say goodbye to a character, it hits you deep down and strikes a very personal chord. The same thing happens when **Anne** makes a decision that affects her relationship with someone special. Those moments are what generate the touch of drama that adds flavor to the story and makes us wonder what the heck the protagonist is thinking. Because yes, I have a couple of issues with Anne, and that's the way she always lets her imagination run wild and believes she is living a fantasy, filling her mind with things that are not really true. There's also her temperament and how dramatic she is at times.
But even with all that, I think **Anne Shirley** is a unique and well-constructed character because she manages to add a touch of humor, fantasy, and drama to the story. Not to mention that, by empathizing with her, we feel every change and growth she goes through throughout the series. When we see her grow up and make certain decisions or take on responsibilities, it's hard not to think about the trivial things in life that, in turn, are very valuable to us. Surely there will be more than one person who will love to learn the story of a young woman who is unique in her style, and seeing her grow up will stir up more than one emotion in anyone. But personally, this type of story makes me feel nostalgic, to be honest. I feel that they are very introspective and emotional for me.

Pero en lo personal me genera nostalgia este tipo de historias, la verdad. Siento que son muy introspectivas y emotivas para mí.

But not only that, there's also romance, one that's very special for a simple **Slice of Life** story. The love stories we see in this series are nothing like the popular **Rom-Coms** in this industry. They're unique stories with a feeling of love that's truly authentic. Even with the protagonist herself, **Anne**, we can see the difference between illusion, obsession, and true love. We learn that it is a feeling that is born, grows, and evolves over time, through moments, actions, and decisions we make in our lives. Not bad for a literary work that, by the way, has more than a hundred years of history with different adaptations of series and feature films.
Last but not least, let's talk about the audiovisual aspect of this anime. Without knowing the studio that was in charge of this adaptation, I admit that they did an excellent job of animating this work in a way that is literally eye-catching. Their drawing style, character design, bright and vivid color palette, use of light and shadow, effects, and visual details are top-notch. I really like the anime's aesthetics and how well it maintains its quality throughout its 24 episodes. Its sound effects are also excellent, but nothing compared to its soundtrack, which manages to convey and elevate each moment in a unique way. In short, this is a unique anime that I sincerely recommend watching.

Para no conocer el estudio que estuvo a cargo de esta adaptación, admito que hizo un excelente trabajo al animar esta obra de una forma que se vea literalmente llamativa. Su estilo de dibujo, diseño de personajes, paleta de colores vivos y brillantes, el uso de las luces y sombras, los efectos y detalles visuales son de lo mejor. Me gusta mucho la estética que tiene el anime y lo bien que se mantiene en cuanto a su calidad a lo largo de los 24 episodios que tiene. Sus efectos de sonido son también excelentes, pero nada comparado con su banda sonora que consigue transmitir y elevar cada momento de una forma única. En fin, este es un anime único en su estilo que recomiendo ver, sinceramente.
