**Hello, anime fans.** We've finally reached the end of this "*little*" annual special where I talk about the best anime in each genre that I've seen over the past year. In this case, we'll be talking about the comedy genre, a genre I tried to avoid talking about because it's so widely used in this industry that it's difficult to find an anime without any humor. Choosing these five series that I'm going to talk about below was not easy. Comedy blends so well with other genres such as fantasy, action, romance, the supernatural, and mystery that it's hard to decide which is best.
But since this is my TOP list, I decided not to complicate my life any more than I already do and talk about the ones I consider to be the best (or at least the ones I think are the best). Of course, this is my opinion, and what I'm about to say is just my opinion based on my tastes. Those of you who read my posts know how this works: ***each anime I mention will be rated from 1 to 10.*** We'll start with the lowest-rated anime and end with the highest-rated one. I've already reviewed most of these anime before, so you'll see their names linked. I hope you find your next favorite anime in this TOP list.

 ### My Deer Friend Nokotan Let's start with what is, for me, the worst comedy anime I've ever seen in my entire life. And it's ironic that I say this, since it's one of the most popular shows from last year. However, I think it's more of a personal thing, simply because I don't like absurd humor, or at least the kind of humor in this series. Based on the manga series of the same name written and illustrated by [**Oshioshio**](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oshioshio), this animated adaptation was produced by the famous [**Wit Studio**](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wit_Studio). The anime is about a high school student named **Torako Koshi** who pretends to be an innocent and well-mannered girl when in reality she is an ex-delinquent. One day she meets a girl with deer antlers on the road who will make her life miserable. "***Absurd***" is the perfect word to describe this anime. And don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's bad or anything like that, just that this is a type of humor that I don't like, as I already told you. Those who are familiar with the genre will know that in the anime industry there are certain popular works with this style of inherent humor that lacks meaning or logic. It's like a mix of random things with extremely hilarious characters who just want to get attention every time they appear, turning a common scene into an odyssey of madness and chaos. But, amid all this senseless madness, there is a certain pattern in some works that makes them a gem for some fans. Personally, I don't understand how the hell this makes anyone laugh. Besides, I'm not a fan of servants either, so I don't care how "*educational*" this anime may be about japanese culture and its relationship with this animal. I think what led me to watch it was its enormous popularity on the internet long before it began airing last year with a simple video clip, a dance that became a "*meme*" in this part of the world. But, overall, I think it's just more of the same from a subgenre of comedy that I'll never understand at all. And it's unfortunate that a great studio like **Wit** took the trouble to make this adaptation, when there are plenty of works out there that would surely be a million times more worthwhile than this. Es como una mezcla de cosas al azar con personajes extremadamente hilarantes que solo buscan llamar la atención en cada momento que aparecen mientras hacen de una escena común una odisea de locura y caos. Pero, entre tanta locura sin sentido hay cierto patrón en algunas obras que la convierten en una joya para algunos fanáticos. Yo en lo personal no entiendo cómo rayos esto le da risa a alguien. > > Aparte, tampoco soy fan de los siervos así que me da igual todo lo “*educativo*” que puede llegar a ser este anime con respecto a la cultura japonesa y su relación con este animal. Pero, de restó, creo que solo es más de lo mismo de un subgénero de la comedia que nunca voy a llegar a entender en lo absoluto. Y es lamentable que un gran estudio como lo es **Wit** se haya tomado la molestia de hacer esta adaptación, habiendo un montón de obras que de seguro valdrían la pena un millón de veces más que esto.  ### [The Foolish Angel Dances with the Devil](https://peakd.com/hive-158489/@nattosenpai/the-foolish-angel-dances-with-the-devil-or-nattosheru-review-engspa) Let's continue with an anime that perfectly represents one of the most popular genre combinations currently in the industry: ***romance and comedy (RomCom).*** But beware, this is not just any **RomCom**, but one that also mixes some fantasy and action into its story. Based on the manga series of the same name written and illustrated by **Sawayoshi Azuma**, **The Foolish Angel Dances with the Devil** was produced by [**Children's Playground Entertainment**](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Children%27s_Playground_Entertainment). The anime tells the story of the demon **Masatora Akutsu**, who comes to Earth in search of new demon soldiers for a war between **Heaven** and **Hell**. However, an "*innocent*" angel named **Lily Amane** will make his life miserable. I don't consider myself an expert on the subject, far from it, but I've lost count of the **RomCom** anime I've seen since I started watching japanese animated series about three years ago. Although I've already talked about several similar series, I don't think that's even a quarter of the dozens of titles I've seen so far. However, very few have managed to entertain me as much as this anime did at the time. And I'm not just saying that because of its funny premise and witty characters, but because of the way it combines the theme of angels and demons with a teenage love story. It's interesting that even the romantic comedy subgenre has a variant that mixes fantasy and some action, as can be seen in this work. Another thing I like about this anime is its style of humor, as it doesn't overuse fanservice or double entendres. It even has funny scenes or moments that are hard to forget. The main characters also attract a lot of attention, especially because they differ from the typical couple in any generic **RomCom**. Its audiovisual aspect is another point in its favor, as both the character design and its quality and details are top-notch. The same goes for its visual effects and its few action and chase sequences. Its soundtrack does a good job of conveying what it's going for and isn't bad at all. Sin embargo, muy pocos han conseguido entretenerme tanto como lo hizo este anime en su momento. Y no solo lo digo por su graciosa premisa y sus personajes ocurrentes, sino por la manera en la que combinan el tema de los ángeles y los demonios con una historia de amor adolescente. Es curioso que incluso el subgénero de la comedia romántica posea una variante que mezcla fantasía y algo de acción como se puede ver en esta obra. > > Otra cosa que me gusta de este anime es su estilo de humor, ya que no es uno que abusa del fanservice ni de los chistes de doble sentido. Incluso posee escenas o momentos graciosos que son difíciles de olvidar. Los personajes principales llaman mucho la atención también, sobre todo porque se diferencian de la típica pareja de enamorados de todo **RomCom** genérico. Su apartado audiovisual es otro punto a su favor, ya que tanto el diseño de los personajes como su calidad y detalles son de lo mejor. Ocurre lo mismo con sus efectos visuales y sus pocas secuencias de acción y persecución. Su banda sonora cumple con transmitir lo que se busca y no está nada mal.
