**Hello, anime fans.** Today I bring you another TOP list with five anime series that you may or may not have seen last year. **2024** hasn't been a great year for science fiction anime, but the genre itself has remained strong with some very interesting offerings, hidden gems, and comebacks from iconic franchises that are worth watching. That's why I make these kinds of lists with names of animated series that more than one of you may have overlooked and that may interest you.
As I've mentioned before, I make these kinds of TOP lists based on the anime I've already seen and rate them from 1 to 10. We'll start with the lowest rating and end with the highest rating. Keep in mind that I have already reviewed most of the anime I am going to talk about below, which is why you will see their names linked. Also, don't forget that everything you read will be solely my honest opinion. If you are a fan of the science fiction genre, I cordially invite you to stay and read this top list until the end.

El **2024** no ha sido un gran año para los animes de ciencia ficción, pero el género en sí se ha mantenido con propuestas muy interesantes, joyas escondidas y regresos de franquicias icónicas que valen la pena ver. Es por eso que realizo este tipo de listas con nombres de series animadas que posiblemente a más de uno los hayan pasado por alto y que les pueda llegar a interesar.

 ### My Wife Has No Emotion Let's start off gently with a somewhat amusing and exciting science fiction and romance anime. This is one of those absurd love stories that will catch your attention if you're a fan of robots and romance novels like me. Based on the manga series of the same name written and illustrated by **Jirō Sugiura**, **My Wife Has No Emotion** was produced by [**TMS Entertainment**](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TMS_Entertainment) and [**Tekuza Productions**](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tezuka_Productions). The anime tells the story of **Takuma Kosugi**, a lonely salaryman who decides to buy a domestic robot named **Mina**. While she initially fulfills her duties of cleaning and cooking, Mina accepts her new owner Takuma's proposal to become his wife (which was supposed to be just a joke). This anime is like a parody of the dream that every lonely, loveless **otaku** fantasizes about living with their "*waifu*" in real life. This premise, apart from being funny and absurd, draws attention due to the everyday situations in which **Takuma** and **Mina** live while developing a kind of emotional relationship that goes beyond the logic of a simple machine. Yes, it's funny and has moments that make you laugh, but it also deals with somewhat profound themes such as marriage, love, and human connections. These types of works are known as "***Slice of Life***", only in this case, it has the detail of being set in a future where technology has advanced so much that people live with high-generation domestic robots. As for the development of its characters, there is not much to say, especially about the protagonists. There is a mystery that arises from the beginning about whether **Mina** can actually feel real emotions despite being an older model robot. But then, in its 12 episodes, it only makes it clear that she is as special as expected. Other than that, I can only say that it has a light but pleasant humor, as well as a slow and calm pace. In terms of its audiovisual aspect, it's not bad at all, considering which studios produced it. The character design, drawing style, details, color palette, and visual effects are very well done. Of course, it's not a big deal, nor does it have such high fluidity or aesthetics, but that's not something you would expect from an anime like this. > #### *Personally, I give it a 7/10 rating in terms of the science fiction and romance genre.* >! Si, es divertida y tiene momentos que te sacan unas risas, pero también trata temas un tanto profundos como el matrimonio, el amor y las conexiones humanas. Este tipo de obras son conocidas como “***Slice of Life***”, solo que en este caso tiene el detalle de tratarse de un futuro donde la tecnología avanzó tanto que la gente convive con robots domésticos de alta generación. > > En cuanto al desarrollo de sus personajes no se muestra mucho que se pueda decir, sobre todo con los protagonistas. Sí hay un enigma que nace desde el principio sobre si **Mina** en realidad puede sentir emociones reales a pesar de ser un modelo de robot antiguo. Pero luego en sus 12 episodios solo nos deja claro que es tan especial como se esperaba que fuera. De resto, solo puedo decir que tiene un humor ligero, pero a la vez agradable, además de tener un ritmo lento y a la vez tranquilo. En cuanto a su aspecto audiovisual no está para nada mal, tomando en cuenta qué estudios la produjeron. El diseño de los personajes, el estilo de dibujo, los detalles, la paleta de colores y los efectos visuales están muy bien hechos.  ### [Metallic Rouge](https://peakd.com/hive-158489/@nattosenpai/metallic-rouge-or-nattosheru-review-engspa) Let's talk now about an anime that showed a lot of promise at the time, but ended up being just another story of dystopian and post-apocalyptic futures, machines fighting each other, and societies on the brink of collapse. A typical entry in the science fiction genre and the "*Mecha*" subgenre, which isn't bad, for a change. **Metallic Rouge** is an original japanese animated television series produced by the famous studio [**Bones**](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bones_(studio)) and directed by **Motonobu Hori**. The anime transports us to a dystopian future where humanity has taken over the **Solar System** after a war against invading aliens. These aliens are now related to the "***Neans***", androids created with alien technology. We meet **Rouge Redstar**, a **Proto-Nean** who is different from the others and carries out assassination missions against other **Proto-Neans** who threaten humanity. Perhaps it is simply a matter of vision or taste, but my opinion of this anime may be more subjective than it should be. Considering the fact that it is an original anime from one of the largest animation studios of the last decade, we have to accept that it is not just anything. But as I am now very interested in science fiction, I think that this story is something we have seen many times before in classics—and not-so-old movies—of this genre. A dystopian and post-apocalyptic future, humans coexisting with intelligent machines, a war against aliens that left its mark on today's society, and an obvious hatred of the **Neans** simply because they are not human. All this and more is what we see in this original series. As for the characters, you can see that they focus a lot on developing them creatively. Take **Rouge Redstar**, for example, who is the typical android who claims to be different and free, but then realizes the reality: ***a machine is and will always be a tool for humans.*** It is because of these themes and the nostalgic and serious tone that this anime sometimes has that it caught my attention. However, I was not at all convinced by the ending. As for the animation, I already mentioned that it was produced by **Bones**, so you can expect nothing less than an audiovisual masterpiece. The quality of the character designs, fluidity, details, aesthetics, visual effects, and color palettes is top-notch. The same goes for its sound effects and soundtrack. Una carta típica para el género de la ciencia ficción y el subgénero “*Mecha*” que no está mal, para variar. **Metallic Rouge** es una serie animada de televisión japonesa original producida por el famoso estudio **Bones** y dirigida por **Motonobu Hori**. El anime nos transporta a un futuro distópico donde la humanidad se ha apoderado del **Sistema Solar** luego de una guerra contra unos alienígenas invasores. Estos se relacionan ahora con los “***Neans***”, androides creados con tecnología alienígena. Conocemos a ***Rouge Redstar***, una **Proto-Nean** diferente a los demás que realiza misiones de asesinato de otros **Proto-Neans** que amenazan con la humanidad. > > Tal vez y sea por una simple cuestión de visión o gusto en especial, pero puede que mi opinión de este anime sea más subjetiva de lo que debería de ser. Considerando el hecho de que es un anime original de uno de los estudios de animación más grandes de la última década, hay que aceptar que no es cualquier cosa. Pero como ahora estoy mucho con el tema de la ciencia ficción pienso que esta historia que nos cuenta es algo que ya hemos visto mucho antes en clásicos -y películas no tan antiguas- de este género. Un futuro distópico y post-apocalíptico, humanos conviviendo con máquinas inteligentes, una guerra contra extraterrestres que dejó su rastro en la sociedad actual y un evidente odio hacia los **Neans** por el simple hecho de no ser humanos. Todo esto y más es lo que vemos en esta serie original. > > En cuanto a los personajes, se puede ver que se centran mucho en desarrollarlos de manera creativa. Como el caso de **Rouge Redstar** que es la típica androide que dice ser diferente y libre, pero que luego se da cuenta de la realidad: ***una máquina es y seguirá siendo siempre una herramienta para el hombre.*** Es por estos temas y por el tono nostálgico y serio que posee a veces este anime que me llamó la atención. Sin embargo, su final simplemente no me convenció en lo absoluto. En cuanto a su animación, ya les dije que la produjo **Bones**, así que no se puede esperar menos de esta obra maestra audiovisual. Su calidad en cuanto a diseños de personajes, fluidez, detalles, estética, efectos visuales y paletas de colores es de lo mejor. Lo mismo va con sus efectos de sonido y su banda sonora.
