**Hello, anime fans.** As usual, it's time to talk about fantasy anime, and this time I bring you my **TOP** five picks, which weren't too difficult to choose this summer season. As you probably already know, the fantasy genre is one of the most popular and exploited in the anime industry, so much so that the number of anime of this type is incalculable, as this enormous list is constantly and continuously updated. It is because of so many broadcasts of so many generic and low-budget works that I have decided to make this type of post so that you have a list of interesting options to watch at your fingertips.
Needless to say, in these TOP lists, I only focus on anime that aired for the first time this past summer season and not on sequels or continuations of already known anime. I also remind you that what you will read below is solely my personal opinion. I rate each anime from 1 to 10, always starting with the lowest rating and ending with the highest. So, if you're a fan of the fantasy genre, I hope you'll read this post to the end and maybe find a title that interests you.

Seguramente lo sabrán ya, pero el género de fantasía es de los más populares y explotados de esta industria del anime, tanto así que es incalculable la cantidad de animes que hay de este tipo ya que esta enorme lista se actualiza constantemente y sin parar. Es por tantas emisiones de tantas obras genéricas y de poco presupuesto que he decidido hacer este tipo de posts para que tengan a la mano una lista de opciones interesantes para ver.

> Está de más mencionar que en estos TOPs solo me centro en hablar de animes que se emitieron por primera vez en esta última temporada de verano y no en secuelas o continuaciones de animes ya conocidos. También les recuerdo que lo que leerán a continuación será únicamente mi opinión personal. A cada anime le doy una calificación del 1 al 10 y siempre empiezo con el de menor calificación y termino con el de mayor calificación. Así que espero que, si eres fanático de género de fantasía, puedas quedarte a leer este post hasta el final y quizá encontrar un título que te interese.

 ### The Shy Hero and the Assassin Princesses Let's start with a fantasy anime that could be one of the most generic of this season. But despite this, it contains a mix of humor and action that makes it quite entertaining, even more so than the other fantasy anime I've ruled out for this **TOP** list. Based on the manga series of the same name written by **Norishiro-chan** and illustrated by **Yukiji Setsuda**, this animated adaptation was produced by [**Connect**](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Connect_(studio)) studio. The anime tells the story of **Toto**, an adventurer who dreams of becoming a hero. However, he has serious problems communicating with people, especially women. What will our hero do now when three suspicious but attractive girls ask him to team up with them? This anime is everything you can imagine just by looking at the cover and the trailer. It's one of those anime that, at first glance, you can easily expect to be generic, cliché, and superficial in its story and characters. That's what happened in my case, as my expectations were low when I gave it a chance at the beginning of its broadcast. But something about the plot and characters hooked me, and I'm not just talking about appearances. Rather, it's how the plot itself is a mixture of irony with characters who assume to be one thing but are actually something completely different. The most ironic thing of all is that these characters end up being the ones who develop the most throughout the anime. Of course, it has its fair share of fanservice, clichés, double entendres, and so on. Also, both the protagonist and the other characters always end up in the same place. As I said, don't expect too much from this anime. On the other hand, its audiovisual aspect isn't too bad. Sure, apart from the somewhat revealing designs of some of the female characters, the rest is more than decent. The color palette, the lighting and shadows, the visual details, the limited use of 3D animation, etc. The sound effects aren't too bad either, and the same goes for the soundtrack, which does its job. Es de esos animes que, a primera instancia, puedes fácilmente esperar lo más genérico, cliché y superficial en su historia y sus personajes. Así mismo sucedió en mi caso ya que tenía mis expectativas por el suelo cuando le di la oportunidad al principio de su emisión. Pero algo en su trama y sus personajes me engancharon y no lo digo únicamente por las apariencias. Sino más bien por cómo la misma trama es una mezcla de ironía con personajes que asumen ser una cosa, pero que en realidad son otra completamente diferente. Lo más irónico de todo es que estos personajes terminan siendo los que más desarrollo tienen a lo largo del anime. > > Claro está, tiene su surtida cantidad de fanservice, clichés, chistes de doble sentido y demás. También que tanto el protagonista como los demás personajes terminan siempre en lo mismo. Como ya dije, no esperen mucho de este anime. Por otro lado, su aspecto audiovisual no está tan mal. Claro, quitando los diseños de algunos personajes femeninos un tanto reveladores, lo demás está más de decente. La paleta de colores, las luces y sombras, los detalles visuales, el poco uso de la animación 3D, etc. También los efectos de sonido no están tan mal, lo mismo sucede con su banda sonora que consigue su cometido.  ### Be Stronger! New Saga Let's talk about another generic fantasy anime aired this summer season. But unlike the previous one, this time it's a slightly more interesting story than usual. Even its plot sounds quite familiar to me from other works in the same genre. Based on the light novel series written by **Masayuki** **Abe** and illustrated by **Ryūta Fuse**, this animated adaptation was produced by [**Sotsu**](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sotsu) and **Studio Clutch**. The anime tells the story of the hero **Kyle**, who in his medieval fantasy world fights to the death against the demon king who seeks to annihilate humanity. Our hero manages to defeat him, but he is about to die just like all his family, friends, and companions did. However, a mysterious gem will transport him to the past, long before the war. If I had a coin for every anime I've seen with this premise of the typical hero who loses everything and is transported back in time to change history, I would have less than a dozen, which isn't much, but it's not nothing either. The fantasy genre has a variety of stories, especially when they are works set in medieval and fantastical worlds with heroes and demon kings. Personally, I'm drawn to these types of plots involving trips to the past and the like. We're talking about a story that begins right after another one ends, which makes it somewhat different from what we're used to seeing in this industry. Obviously, this anime isn't free from the generic, with a protagonist who only fulfills his role as a hero and a team that doesn't stand out much more than usual. While it's nice that it doesn't have much fanservice, it still has a somewhat irreverent sense of humor at times. Otherwise, the plot can even be quite predictable, but that doesn't mean it's not entertaining to watch. As for its audiovisual aspect, there's not much to say either. It has good character design and a vivid color palette common to this type of anime. The animation isn't very fluid, and CGI is sometimes used to recreate certain monsters. But there are scenes that look pretty good for a generic fantasy anime. Y es que el género de la fantasía posee una variación de historias, sobre todo cuando son obras de mundos medievales y fantásticos con héroes y reyes demonios. En lo personal, me llama la atención este tipo de tramas de viajes al pasado y cosas por el estilo. Estamos hablando de una historia que inicia justo después de terminar otra, lo cual lo hace un tanto diferente a lo que ya estamos acostumbrados a ver en esta industria. > > Obviamente, este anime no se libra de lo genérico al tener a un protagonista que solo cumple con su papel de héroe y su equipo que no destaca mucho más de lo normal. Si bien se agradece que no tenga mucho fanservice, sigue teniendo un humor un tanto irreverente a veces. De resto, su trama puede llegar incluso a ser bastante predecible, pero esto no significa que no sea entretenida de ver. En cuanto a su aspecto audiovisual no hay mucho que decir tampoco. Tiene un buen diseño de personajes y una paleta de colores vivos y común de este tipo de animes. No tiene mucha fluidez en su animación y a veces utilizan el CGI para recrear ciertos monstruos. Pero hay escenas que se ven bastante bien para ser un anime genérico de fantasía.  ### Welcome to the Outcast's Restaurant! Let's put aside the typical stories of shy heroes or time travelers and talk about food this time, just as you read. A fantasy anime with adventure, action, and magic, but with a restaurant and a variety of stories that can make you laugh and even cry. Based on the light novel series written by **Yūki Kimikawa** and illustrated by **Gaou**, this animated adaptation was produced by [**OLM**](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OLM_(studio)) studio. The anime tells the story of **Dennis**, a level 99 chef and adventurer who is expelled from the guild he has been a member of for a long time. He takes this opportunity to leave and set up his own restaurant, something he has dreamed of doing for a long time. However, he is not alone, as a little orphan girl will keep him company. Despite appearances, I'm not very interested in stories related to food, restaurants, and such. However, there are exceptions, such as the one I'm talking about right now. An anime that mixes cooking with adventure, action, and drama, like any medieval fantasy anime, is something I obviously didn't want to miss. And thank goodness I didn't, because I confess that I was quite entertained by this work. For starters, the mere fact that it's not about the typical protagonist who becomes a hero and all that is already a guarantee that it has something different and unique to tell. Especially when it comes to its characters. The good thing about these anime where the protagonists don't follow the famous "***hero's journey***" is that you can learn very interesting stories about some of the characters. There are even a few cases that generate a lot of excitement because of how dramatic they are. The way it mixes adventure with action and drama is impressive, as is the development of its characters. In terms of audiovisuals, it also has its merits, although it's nothing out of this world. The character design, bright color palette, visual details, effects, and transitions are excellent. I also really like the soundtrack, especially the opening theme, which is quite catchy because of its rhythm. Para empezar, el mero hecho de que no se trate del típico protagonista que se convierte en héroe y todo eso ya es garantía de que tiene algo distinto y único por contar. Sobre todo con lo que respecta a sus personajes. > > Lo bueno de estos animes donde los protagonistas no recorren el famoso “***camino del héroe***” es que se pueden conocer historias muy interesantes de algunos personajes. Incluso hay uno que otro caso que genera mucha emoción por lo dramático que es. La forma en la que mezcla la aventura con la acción y el drama es impresionante; lo mismo pasa con el desarrollo de sus personajes. En cuanto a lo audiovisual, también tiene lo suyo, aunque no es nada del otro mundo. El diseño de los personajes, la paleta de colores brillantes, los detalles visuales, los efectos y las transiciones son excelentes. También me gusta mucho su banda sonora, sobre todo su opening que es bastante pegajosa por el ritmo que tiene.
