One of the things we LOVE about the Steemiverse is all the cool stuff we learn about natural healing, which is a broader spectrum than you think - it's not just herbalism, but healthy eating, essential oils, crystals, spirituality & mindfulness, fitness, spa retreats, yoga and tai chi, psychology and so much more. In fact, as long as it works on your mind, body and spirit in a healthy way, it's natural medicine! Damn, I love a good tune on a Friday night to lighten my soul, and THAT'S a natural medicine too!
A lot of our natural medicine journey's started with a book. @raj808 wrote about it in last week's Mindful Monday post, where he learnt about the hamsa meditation which really impacted his life. @steelborne coicidentally ALSO started talking about books in the Natural Medicine Discord server this week. And thus, the new challenge was conceived where you write about a book (or books) that have been part of your natural medicine journey.
Maybe you're reading something fascinating that you want to share.
Maybe it's a book that started your natural medicine journey.
Maybe it's a whole bookshelf of books with some special favorites that you highlight
Maybe it's a book you dip into now and again
Maybe it's a well thumbed reference book
Maybe it's something you are half way through
Maybe it's a book you read on your last holiday
Maybe it's a book you've written yourself
Whatever it is, we'd like you to share it. From recipe books to esoteria, reference books to field guides, spiritual texts to modern medical journals, books inform and inspire our natural healing journeys.
Some tips
- Include why this book is important to you, or why you bought it.
- Include some original photos to add interest
- Explain a personal anecdote/s associated with the book/s
- Include excerpts or quotes and why they appealed to you
- Is there anything about the author that might be noteworthy?
I'm already excited about viewing @porters favourite dhamma books, @walkerland's herbal texts, @trucklife-family tree books, @alchemage's alchemical texts, @plantstoplanks nutrition and recipe books, and @nateonsteemit's permaculture references! Or maybe they'll show me something unexpected that I didn't realise was on their shelves!
As we really don't want to exclude those who might not have access to books, if you have been inspired by online teachers or videos, you are welcome to share that too! I know there are some incredible Youtube references that have inspired, motivated and informed our journeys too.
We also want to send a heartfelt thanks to our delegators. We appreciate your support and we hope you can join in this challenge too!
