I just have to say — I’m shook! This photo seriously messes with my head.

So, here’s the thing: I’m super into social documentary photography, especially people. But there’s always this one problem — the second people realize I’m about to take their picture, they change. Doesn’t matter if they’re cool with it or not, they instantly switch into something unnatural.

So… I usually take pictures on the sly. And in this one shot, my shadow accidentally fell across the subject — which means you can see I wasn’t even looking at them while taking the photo. And the whole vibe feels like this weird in-between state… like when you stand in front of a mirror, and you see yourself, but your reflection is not really looking at you. Or even stranger — when you look in the mirror and realize you’re someone else entirely.

You know that feeling I’m talking about?!

باید بگم "پشماااام...!" این عکس خیلی برام عجیبه... ببینید، یه ماجرایی هست. من خیلی به عکاسی مستند اجتماعی علاقه‌مندم، مخصوصاً از آدما، ولی یه مشکلی وجود داره، معمولاً آدما اگه بدونن می‌خوام عکس بگیرم یهو رفتارشون تغییر می‌کنه، چه اونایی که با عکس گرفتن من مشکلی نگدارن، چه اونایی که ندارن.

بنابراین یواشکی عکس می‌گیرم. حالا اینجا توی این عکس این سایه‌ی منه که افتاده روی سوژه و نشون میده که من به سوژه نگاه نمی‌کنم درحالی که ازش عکس گرفتم. و حس‌ش برام شبیه یه وضعیتی بود. وضعیتی که شما میرید جلوی آینه و خودتونو توی آینه می‌بینید در حالی که به خودتون نگاه نمی‌کنید، یاااا... وضعیتی که میرید جلوی آینه و می‌بینید یه کس دیگه هستید. می‌تونید حس منو درک کنید؟!
