Hello, my hive friends and especially this @family-friends community, happy Sunday filled with many blessings 🥰. Celebrating birthdays as a family is one of our favorite family activities. Today I want to share my mother-in-law Rosalba's birthday with you.
Yesterday was a significant day for all of us, and how could it not be, since it was my dear mother-in-law Rosalba's birthday? The whole family went to the apartments to congratulate her, keep her company, and spend some quality time with her. Due to financial circumstances, we weren't going to do anything, but last-minute inventions always come up. Typical of us Venezuelans, we searched even the smallest stones for hidden treasures to make this day extra special. It was very simple but meaningful and memorable for the family.
From the beginning, the atmosphere was filled with joy, and that contagion helped us get going. My sister-in-law Francy immediately set about making the cake. The smell of freshly baked cake awakens our senses and brings back wonderful memories that completely envelop us, bringing so much joy to our lives. Francy excelled with the decoration, giving her all to make the cake look beautiful. She did it with love for our mother-in-law, who was very happy and satisfied with the present.
Everyone was gathered: my nephews José, Inés, Sebastián, my brothers-in-law Rafael, Aurialba, Francy, my father-in-law Laureano, my children, and my husband. Family warmth is the essence of life. As time passed, we talked, laughed, and remembered beautiful family moments. My brother-in-law Abelardo, who lives in Coro, Falcón state, congratulated his mother via video call and gave us all some homemade fruit ice cream that my sister-in-law Francy sells, which, by the way, was delicious. We ordered tamarind, passion fruit, and jobito; I preferred the latter. This tasting gave a touch of freshness and sweetness to the atmosphere. We joked around while enjoying the ice cream.
My husband and father-in-law set up the card table to play dominoes and truco, traditional Venezuelan games we play together to continue strengthening our family ties. These games were the center of attention, with dominoes predominating, at the birthday girl's request. From the moment she sat down, she got up at two in the morning when we sang Happy Birthday.
This is the culminating moment of any birthday celebration. We placed the cake on the card table and took some family photos before singing Happy Birthday. We continued by turning off the lights and lighting the candle to begin the Happy Birthday, all to a quiet chorus. My brother-in-law Rafael, always a joker, made us laugh with his antics while we sang. Rosalba blew out the candle, making her wish, which lasted a long time; no one knew what she wanted 🤭. We all happily wrapped our arms around her to hug and kiss her. The birthday girl cut a slice for us to taste. My sister-in-law, Francy, gave everyone present a piece of cake. At two in the morning, we were eating cake; the wrapping was delicious, I licked my fingers clean 😁.
We continued talking for a while before heading home. As we said goodbye, Francy gave us an extra slice of cake. My children were happy about the extra piece, so I saved it for today. These moments teach me a lot. We don't need a lot of money or luxury to spend quality time with family. More than a celebration, for us, it was an opportunity to celebrate another year of my mother-in-law's life, who deserves all our love, respect, admiration, and unconditional support. How could we not? She's our pillar, heart, and guide in our family. This birthday made it very clear to us that we're a family that thrives in the good times and the bad, grateful to God for all his blessings and that he continues to keep us closer than ever. Celebrando el cumpleaños feliz de mi suegra Rosalba 🎉🥳🎂
Hola, mis amigos de hive y especialmente esta comunidad de @family-friends, feliz domingo lleno de muchas bendiciones 🥰. Celebrar el cumpleaños en familia, es una de las actividades familiares que más nos gusta. Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes, el cumpleaños de mi suegra Rosalba.
Ayer fue un día significativo para todos nosotros, y como no serlo, si mi querida suegra Rosalba estaba de cumpleaños, fuimos toda la familia a los apartamentos a felicitarla, hacerle compañía y pasar un momento agradable con ella. Por situaciones económicas, no íbamos a hacer nada, pero siempre salen los inventos a última hora. Típico de nosotros, los venezolanos, buscamos hasta en las piedras las caletas guardadas para hacer este día muy especial. Fue muy sencillo pero significativo y memorable para la familia.
Desde un principio, el ambiente estuvo lleno de alegría y ese contagio nos ayudó a activarnos. Mi cuñada Francy inmediatamente se dispuso a hacer la torta. El olor a torta, recién horneada, despierta nuestros sentidos y hace que juntemos recuerdos maravillosos que nos envuelven por completo, trayendo mucha alegría a nuestra vida. Francy, se lució con el adorno, dio lo mejor de sí para que luciera muy bonita la torta, lo hizo con amor para nuestra suegra, quien quedó muy contenta y satisfecha con el presente.
Estando todos reunidos, mis sobrinos José, Inés, Sebastián, mis cuñados Rafael, Aurialba, Francy, mi suegro Laureano, mis hijos y esposo. La calidez familiar es la esencia de la vida. Mientras el tiempo transcurría, conversábamos, reíamos y recordábamos momentos hermosos en familia. Mi cuñado Abelardo, quien está en Coro, estado Falcón, a través de videollamada, felicitó a su mamá y nos regaló a todos un helado casero de frutas que vende mi cuñada Francy, que por cierto estaban riquísimos. Pedimos de tamarindo, parchita y jobito; preferí el último. Esta degustación le dio un toque de frescura y dulzura al ambiente. Nos pusimos jodedores mientras disfrutábamos de los helados.
Mi esposo y el suegro colocaron la mesa de juego, para jugar domino y truco, son juegos típicos que los venezolanos realizamos en nuestro compartir, para seguir fortaleciendo nuestros lazos familiares. Estos juegos fueron el centro de atracción, predominando el dominó, por petición de la cumpleañera. Desde que se sentó, se levantó a las dos de la mañana cuando cantamos el cumpleaños feliz.
Este es el momento culminante en cualquier celebración de cumpleaños. Colocamos la torta en la mesa de juego y aprovechamos de sacar unas fotos familiares antes de cantar cumpleaños. Continuamos apagando las luces y encendiendo la vela para dar inicio al cumpleaños feliz, todos a un coro no melodioso. Mi cuñado Rafael, siempre jodedor, mientras cantábamos, nos hacía reír por sus ocurrencias. Rosalba sopló la vela pidiendo su deseo, que duró un buen rato, nadie supo qué pidió 🤭. Todos con nuestra alegría la envolvimos para abrazarla y besarla. La cumpleañera cortó un trozo de porción para probarla. Mi cuñada Francy, nos hizo entrega a todos los presentes de un trozo de torta, a las dos de la madrugada estábamos comiendo torta, la envoltura estaba riquísima, me chupé hasta los dedos 😁.
Seguimos conversando por un rato más, para partir a nuestros hogares. Al despedirnos, Francy nos regaló una porción adicional de torta, mis hijos estaban felices por ese trozo extra, por la hora lo guardé para el día de hoy. Estos momentos me dejan muchos aprendizajes, no requerimos mucho dinero, no lujo para pasar un rato agradable entre familia. Más que una celebración, para nosotros fue una oportunidad para festejar un año más de vida de mi suegra, quien se merece todo nuestro amor, respeto, admiración, apoyo incondicional. Como no hacerlo, ella es nuestro pilar, corazón y guía en nuestra familia. Este cumpleaños nos dejó muy claro que somos una familia que está en las buenas y en las no tanto, agradecida a Dios por todas sus bendiciones y que nos siga manteniendo más unidos que nunca.
