My role as a mother and teacher in supporting our children in their school activities [Eng-Esp]

Hello, my beautiful people of @motherhood, happy Wednesday filled with many blessings. This time I want to share with you my children's participation in the creative area of culture, a responsibility I'm taking on this new school year. It's so wonderful to see our boys and girls putting so much enthusiasm and commitment into the activities we assign them outside of their classrooms. >! Es muy bonito ver a nuestros niños y niñas, ponerle ganas y compromiso en las actividades que le asignamos fuera de sus aulas de clases.

### My role as a mother and teacher in supporting our children in their school activities/ Mi papel de madre y docente en el acompañamiento a nuestros niños y niñas en sus actividades escolares On October 28th of this year, at the Román Chalbaud Educational Institution where I work, the seven teachers in the Culture department, working in different areas, commemorated the birth of Simón Rodríguez. This activity was included in the 2025-2026 school calendar of the Ministry of Education. In my role within the creative area of culture: Bolivarian Society, one of my responsibilities is to highlight the heroes and battles that have contributed to my country, Venezuela. On this occasion, I took the opportunity to have two of my students participate in a podcast about the life and work of Simón Rodríguez. I also supported my colleagues by helping them transfer the sketches of Simón Rodríguez and guiding the students we took to the stage to color them. >! [Spanish version] > > El día 28 de octubre del presente año, en la institución educativa Román Chalbaud donde trabajo, los docentes en función Cultura que somos 7 en total en diferentes áreas, conmemoramos el natalicio de Simón Rodríguez, como actividad pautada en el calendario escolar 2025-2026 del ministerio de educación, por mi parte en el área creativa de cultura: Sociedad Bolivariana, me corresponde en unas de mis funciones resaltar los héroes y batallas que han contribuido a mi país Venezuela, en esa oportunidad aproveche para que dos de mis estudiantes participaran en un podcast referente a la vida y obra de Simón Rodríguez, además de ser apoyo a mis colegas, en ayudarlos transferir los bocetos Simón Rodríguez y a guiar junto a ellas a los estudiantes que llevamos al escenario para que lo colorearan.

Behind every activity, not only the students are involved, but also the parents, guardians, teachers, and the administrative and support staff of our institution. Together, we collaborate to ensure these activities are a success. Each activity, as always, involves several days of planning and rehearsals; our children are the stars of these educational and cultural events. They participate with love, dedication, commitment, enthusiasm, and joy, bringing great honor to the school. This day not only commemorated this great teacher who has left an invaluable legacy to Venezuelan education, but it also allowed our children to strengthen their freedom to express their ideas and knowledge, contributing to their social, cultural, and educational transformation. >! [Spanish version] > > Detrás de cada actividad, se involucra no solo a los estudiantes, sino también a los padres, representantes, docentes, además del personal administrativo y obrero de nuestra institución. Juntos colaboramos para que estas actividades se lleven a cabo en feliz término. Cada actividad, como siempre, tiene varios días de planificación y ensayos; nuestros niños y niñas son los protagonistas de estos eventos pedagógicos y culturales. Que lo hacen con amor, entrega, compromiso, disposición, entusiasmo y alegría, dejando el nombre de la escuela por todo lo alto. Esta jornada no solo permitió conmemorar a este gran maestro que ha dejado un legado invaluable a la educación venezolana, sino que también permitió que nuestros niños y niñas fortalecieran su libertad en expresar sus ideas, conocimiento, en pro de su transformación social, cultura y educativa.

As a mother and teacher, it fills me with pride and great emotion to see our children participate in these kinds of activities. It allows them to express their ideas, emotions, and talents without barriers. It makes it very clear that education goes beyond books; we must let them dream, succeed, and live their own experiences. With our support and guidance at home and at school, everything is easier for them. It makes it very clear to them that the commitment and dedication we give them makes them feel more confident and enthusiastic. >! [Spanish version] > > Como madre y maestra, me llena de orgullo y gran emoción, ver a nuestros niños y niñas participar en estos tipos de actividades, es permitirle que expresen sus ideas, emociones, talentos sin barreras. Nos deja muy claro que la educación va más allá de los libros, hay que dejarlos soñar, triunfar y vivir sus propias experiencias. Con nuestro apoyo y acompañamiento desde la casa y desde la escuela, todo es más llevadero para ellos. Les deja muy claro que el compromiso y dedicación que le damos, los hace sentir más seguros y entusiasmados.

That's why we need to be involved in each of their school activities to help them prepare and keep motivating them so that every activity or task, no matter how small, is done together, with effort, dedication, and commitment. When children see us participating in their school activities, they feel more engaged and give their best effort. They greatly value the time we dedicate to them, and besides allowing us to strengthen unbreakable bonds with them, we help them become more self-confident children. >! [Spanish version] > > Por eso debemos estar en cada una de sus actividades escolares para ayudarles a prepararse y seguir motivándolos a que cada actividad o tarea, por más pequeña que sea, debemos hacerlas juntos, con esfuerzos, dedicación y compromiso. Cuando los niños y niñas ven que participamos en sus actividades escolares, se sienten más comprometidos y hacen sus mayores esfuerzos, ellos valoran mucho este tiempo que le dedicamos, aparte de que nos permite fortalecer vínculos inquebrantables con ellos, los ayudamos a ser unos niños y niñas más seguros de sí mismo.

Undoubtedly, as parents and teachers, we have a great responsibility towards our children. It is our most precious privilege and duty to accompany them throughout their lives, guiding them on their paths so they can fully experience their own lives. Participating in these activities together allows us to discover their strengths, talents, and interests. Furthermore, each activity we do together is a seed we help grow with love, self-esteem, and values for life. Remembering that our home and school are meeting points for the collective and holistic construction of the educational community, where family and school work together, our children will have a happy and prosperous future.
