My Business And Motivation.

The type of business I would like to go into is farming ( poultry farming and crop farming) During my uni days, it looked stressful but we enjoyed it especially because we saw very encouraging and good results. I wouldn’t just go into farming if I hadn’t experienced or been told about it. When I did my final year project, I raised poultry birds from day old till 8 weeks It's stressful but you’ll definitely get back your capital and more. I know how much I spent then during my project and how much I made when I sold the birds, minus the birds I gave to my supervisor and lecturers and the ones I took home.

The reason why I would go into farming is because I want to make a change in society, these days we don’t even trust the veggies and protein we eat because there are lots of genetically modified foods. People don’t care because it’s big and they neglect the health issues that’ll arise in the future. Now I would raise birds with normal food, give them the right vaccines to help them grow well, yes I’ll encounter loss but it won’t be much, because they’re raised naturally.

The aspect of crops I’ll go into would be sweet corn. Sweet corn is preserved so it does not get spoiled. We don’t even know what they use to preserve it. The reason why I want to grow this crop is so people can buy it and be sure they’re eating healthy, and again I can educate them on how to preserve it. In case you want to buy a bag is sweet corn, you can use some and preserve the rest.

Genetically modified foods are just business strategies. Since Africans cherish imported goods, they just have to find a solution that aligns with our perceived problems. This is another reason why I’d love to go into agriculture, to help people buy foods that are naturally grown and raised. It will make me happy to hear people say, “Go buy from that farm, she’s got fresh eggs, she's got fresh corn, you can get naturally raised chicken from her.”

Another reason is that I’d love to educate people. People believe in what they see, so if you come to my farm and see how good the birds are doing and how well the crops are doing, you’d want me to educate you on how to go about it, how the waste products from the birds can serve as manure, what feed they’ll need in starter phase and finisher face, how they’ll take their hygiene seriously because birds die in a dirty environment, and vaccines they need from stater to finisher, now when people get to know these stuffs and also get to know you don’t need a huge land or space to achieve these stuffs.

2. Do I see myself more motivated by my passion, profit, or independence?

I’m motivated by passion. After my IT and project days in school, I had already made up my mind that I’ll own a poultry and sweet corn farm, because after I experienced farming by my self I got to know it’s not a dirty work as some people see it, so no matter how long it’ll take. it’s something I did myself so I got to know it’s not as difficult as it looks from afar. Because I’ve got a passion for it, I’ll certainly make profit and become independent. ALL IMAGES ARE MINE. Thanks for reading my blog
