Hello fellow Hivians on the Hive Blockchain. How has your day been going today.I hope we are all alive and thriving. It's a brand new month plus the 10th month of the year. God has truly been faithful isn't He. Let's praise Him together for life.

So yesterday being 1st October was Nigeria's independence day celebration, a day Nigeria gained her Independence from the British who were their colonial masters.Come with me as i take us back memory lane on Nigeria's history.

BRIEF HISTORY OF NIGERIA Nigeria’s history begins with early civilizations like the Nok culture and great kingdoms such as Oyo, Benin, and Kanem-Bornu. Europeans arrived in the 15th century, and the trans-Atlantic slave trade dominated for centuries. By the 1800s, Britain took control, and in 1914 it merged the north and south to form Nigeria.

Nigeria gained independence in 1960, becoming a republic in 1963. Soon after, military coups and the Civil War (1967–1970) shook the nation. Decades of military rule followed until 1999, when democracy returned. Today, Nigeria is Africa’s most populous nation, rich in culture, oil, and talent, though still facing challenges of corruption, insecurity, and ethnic tension.

Nigeria as we know is famous for tourist attractions and I would like to mention but a few: 1. Zuma Rock (Abuja) – Famous giant monolith, often called the “Gateway to Abuja.” 2. Olumo Rock (Ogun State) – Historic rock used as a fortress during wars by the Egba people. 3. Yankari National Park (Bauchi State) – Nigeria’s most popular wildlife park with elephants, baboons, and hot springs. 4. Obudu Mountain Resort (Cross River State) – Known for its cable cars, mountain views, and cool climate. 5. Osun-Osogbo Sacred Grove (Osun State) – UNESCO World Heritage Site and spiritual forest for the Yoruba people. 6. Ogbunike Caves (Anambra State) – Ancient caves with spiritual significance and natural beauty. 7. Idanre Hills (Ondo State) – Stunning landscape with 660 steps leading to the ancient settlement on the hilltop. 8. Nike Art Gallery (Lagos) – West Africa’s largest art gallery, showcasing Nigerian creativity. 9. Lekki Conservation Centre (Lagos) – Famous for its canopy walkway (one of the longest in Africa). 10. Awhum Waterfall (Enugu State) – Beautiful waterfall linked with a monastery.

With all these Nigeria has grown from being an undeveloped country to a now developing country in the world. In the movie industry Nigeria is ranked the 2nd following after the Bollywood and producing about over 2000 movies a year becoming the largest in Africa.

In the music industry it is ranked the 6th most exporting music in a country into top ranks and is also well known for oil production.
