What's up, hivers?
##

My husband and I decided to give a donation to the earthquake victims because we felt sorry for them. Since our daughter also donated, we bought water and canned goods to give to the CARITAS community in our church, so we could be sure the donations would safely reach those in need. My sister-in-law, who lives in Canada, also sent her donation for the earthquake victims and suggested, What if you personally deliver it, so we can be sure it reaches them?
##

Without hesitation, my husband, I, and my in-laws agreed. We went back to Gaisano to buy more goods since my in-laws wanted to contribute too, so we decided to combine everything.
##

It was quite a busy day for us. When we got home,we repacked all the items. Initially, we planned to leave at 4 a.m., but one of my sisters-in-law suggested we travel at night instead to avoid traffic.
##

And we loaded the relief goods into the vehicle, all ready for the destination. And before we departed for the destination, we prayed to God, asking for His blessings to protect us on our journey and to guide us in everything we would do.
##

We left at 10 p.m., and after almost five hours of travel, we arrived around 3 a.m.
Since it was still dark, we decided to rest inside the car and looked for a safe place to park. While we were relaxing and waiting for morning, there was another earthquake quite strong but short.
##

In the morning, we were at the beach eating breakfast so we’d be ready right away for our destination.
##

When we were already on the highway, this is what we saw. Many people by the roadside asking for help, some living in makeshift tents because they were still afraid to go back to their houses due to the continuous aftershocks. My sister-in-law’s plan was to deliver the goods to those in remote areas that usually don’t receive much help.
##

When we arrived, we saw their situation first hand people asking for assistance, and their greatest needs were clean water and food and other basic needs just to survive each day. We immediately started distributing the water and food.
##

We also saw buildings, roads, bridges and houses that were destroyed because of the strong 6.9 magnitude earthquake.
##

I also saw the church in Bantayan, the Sta. Rosa de Lima Church in Daanbantayan, which was damaged too. It was truly heartbreaking and painful to see. But I believe God allowed this to happen to remind people that there is a God the owner of everything in this world. Sometimes, we tend to forget Him because we become too busy with worldly things. There is God, and we should never forget to put Him first above all. God is good all the time. So, let us continue to pray always, people of Christ. God is always there just waiting for us. God bless us all.
Thank you for sparing your time to visit my blog. Adieu!
