Today I felt like getting to work and drawing again, so I finally decided to sketch one of the creatures from the Holozing universe. I specifically wanted to draw the one that gets the least attention—in my opinion, that’s Larvie. Maybe it’s because she’s a tiny caterpillar, and tiny caterpillars often get overlooked? Well, it’s time to create my own fan art of Larvie. I want it to look really beautiful, so I’ll be putting in a lot of effort.
Hoy quise ponerme manos a la obra y dibujar de nuevo, entonces me decidí de una vez y por todas a dibujar una de las criaturas del universo de Holozing. Pero quería, en específico, dibujar la que menos atención se le dedica, y en mi opinión creo que es Larvie. ¿Quizás porque es una oruguita pequeña y a las oruguitas pequeñas siempre se les resta importancia? Bueno, ¡hora de crear mi propio fan art de Larvie! Quiero que quede muy bonito, así que le pondremos esfuerzo.
The first thing I did was draw its body and face—I want it to have a surprised expression. But this little Larvie can’t just be floating around; it has to be resting, sunbathing on a small flower, ready to become a chrysalis and later evolve into a strong and powerful Noxic. I think a white daisy would be perfect—what do you think?
Lo primero que hice fue dibujar su cuerpo y rostro. Lo quiero hacer con rostro de sorpresa, pero este pequeño Larvie no puede estar simplemente flotando; tiene que estar descansando, tomando el sol en una pequeña flor, listo para volverse crisálida y más tarde en un fuerte y poderoso Noxic. Una margarita blanca creo que estaría perfecta, ¿qué creen?
After a while drawing, we now have our full sketch and the first clean lines of the drawing. This is how the final result will look—though of course, with colors. Are you liking it so far?

Now it’s time for the colors! I want to use a cheerful and bright color palette, staying true to the character’s original colors but giving it a warm, childlike touch. What do you think of this color choice? Personally, I really liked it.
Ahora llegó el turno de los colores. Quiero utilizar una paleta de colores alegre y brillante, respetando los colores originales del personaje pero dándole ese toque infantil y cálido. ¿Qué creen de esta elección de colores? En lo personal, me gustó mucho.
Without changing my base colors, I added some volume and depth using light and shadow. I especially liked how the yellow center of the flower turned out—I think it looks really beautiful. Now all that’s left is to add a few clouds so the drawing feels complete.
Sin cambiar mis colores base, utilicé luces y sombras para dar algunos volúmenes y profundidades. Me gustó sobre todo cómo quedó el centro amarillo de la flor; creo que se ve muy bonito. Solo queda agregar algunas nubes para que nuestro dibujo esté completo.
