Today I return to the pages of this community, certain that we are fortunate to visit, from here, the beautiful places that friends show us. For a few days now, I have wanted to show you this exciting journey, a place worth visiting again and again in the city where I leave my heart: Camagüey.
There is a very central street in Camagüey that, despite having a well-identified name, has lost it, and on the lips of passersby, it is only referred to as: The Street of Cinemas. Some years ago, lovers of the seventh art founded a thematic walk on this street with the goal of making a stroll through it feel like a journey through the history of cinema.
Starting with the sidewalks decorated like the edges of a film reel, one enters this street as if into a dream, where every step is a unique film-loving experience.
We find the two great cinemas of the street: the Cine Encanto and the Cine Casablanca, the latter a clear allusion to the iconic film; and, of course, the decorations practically make you wish you could touch both protagonists.
Between the two cinemas, you find the Alley of Miracles, a sudden experience also named after a movie, where you can marvel at an iron sculpture of a large cinematograph and, on the back wall, posters of several Cuban films that made history and defined an era. This space, as I found out, will be renovated soon.
Next to the Alley of Miracles, a bar called Casablanca and a café decorated with old film reels, called Between Cinemas…
As for me, I took a photo in the Alley, as they say that miracles often happen there.
Continuing down the street and imagining the glamorous life of actresses, I come across a store with its windows decorated with vintage posters of historic films.
Further ahead, Treasure Island, an ice cream parlor that recalls on its doors magical cinematic moments where actors ate.
One of the most important places on the street is the New World Audiovisual Complex, which was closed at the time of my visit due to the early hour, but which features a beautiful meeting room and a browsing room where you can find wonders of the Cuban and global cinematic repertoire. Next to it, a café called Nuevo Mundo, another place where cinema takes center stage.
On the walls and fences of the street, there are no empty spaces; posters of memorable films rise up and cover our entire walk, alongside bronze plaques commemorating peak moments in the development of this art in the province.
A cafeteria called La Dolce Vita, in honor of the historic Italian film starring Marcello Mastroianni, and another bar named The Hope await us with open doors and decorations that immerse us in a paradise full of our favorite actors and directors.
Almost at the end, a place I have returned to again and again with my daughter: the Italian Food Restaurant La Isabella, in honor of the icon of female acting in Cuba, Isabel Santos. Its decoration is a direct bridge to fantasy and a reminder that the magic of cinema is not only on the screen but in the streets we inhabit.
It's impossible for me to list every detail in this post, but the excitement I feel is immense when my city bets on this type of initiative that transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary.

Un paseo cinematográfico en el Camagüey
Hoy retorno a las páginas de esta comunidad con la certeza de que somos afortunados de visitar, desde aquí, los bellos lugares que los amigos nos muestran. Desde hace algunos días he querido mostrarles este apasionante viaje, un sitio que vale la pena visitar una y otra vez en la ciudad donde deposito mi corazón: Camagüey.
Hay una calle muy céntrica en Camagüey que, a pesar de tener su nombre bien identificado, lo ha perdido, y en los labios de los transeúntes solo se escucha nombrarla como: La Calle de los Cines. Ya hace algunos años, amantes del séptimo arte fundaron en esta calle un paseo temático con el objetivo de que transitar por allí diera la impresión de un viaje por la historia del cine.
Comenzando por las aceras decoradas a la manera de los bordes de un celuloide, uno entra a esta calle como en un sueño, donde cada paso es una experiencia cinéfila única.
Encontramos los dos grandes cines de la calle: el Cine Encanto y el Cine Casablanca, este último en clara alusión a la emblemática cinta; y, por supuesto, los decorados te hacen prácticamente desear tocar a ambos protagonistas.
Entre los dos cines encuentras el Callejón de los Milagros, una súbita experiencia también con nombre de película, donde puedes asombrarte con una escultura de hierro de un gran cinematógrafo y, en la pared de fondo, los carteles con varias de las películas cubanas que hicieron época e historia. Este espacio, según estuve averiguando, será renovado en breve.

Siguiendo la calle e imaginando la vida glamurosa de las actrices, me encuentro con una tienda decorada en sus vidrieras con antiguos carteles de filmes que marcaron historia.

Más adelante, La Isla del Tesoro, una heladería que recuerda en sus puertas mágicos momentos cinematográficos donde los actores comían.

Uno de los lugares más importantes de la calle es el Complejo Audiovisual Nuevo Mundo, que al momento de mi visita se encontraba cerrado por la temprana hora, pero que presenta una bella sala de reuniones y una sala de navegación donde puedes encontrar maravillas del repertorio cinematográfico cubano y mundial. A su lado, un café llamado Nuevo Mundo, otro sitio donde el cine es protagonista.

En las paredes y tapias de la calle no hay espacios libres; los carteles de películas memorables se alzan y cubren todo nuestro caminar, igualmente placas de bronce donde se recuerdan momentos cumbres del desarrollo de este arte en la provincia.

Una cafetería llamada La Dolce Vita, en honor al filme italiano que hizo historia junto a Marcello Mastroianni, y otro bar nombrado La Esperanza nos esperan con las puertas abiertas y con decoraciones que nos sumergen en un paraíso lleno de nuestros actores y directores favoritos.

Casi llegando al final, un lugar al que una y otra vez he regresado junto a mi hija: el Restaurante de Comida Italiana La Isabella, en honor al icono de la actuación femenina en Cuba, Isabel Santos. Su decoración es un puente directo a la fantasía y un recordatorio de que la magia del cine no solo está en la pantalla, sino en las calles que habitamos.
Todos los detalles me son imposibles de enumerar en este post, pero es gigante la emoción que siento cuando mi ciudad apuesta por este tipo de iniciativas que convierten lo cotidiano en extraordinario.
