Faelledparken parkrun, Copenhagen, Denmark.

parkruns starts at 9am in Denmark which makes total sense in winter when it is dark and cold but in summer it feels like half the day is gone. At least it made making our way there on the metro easy. We only need one change in the middle of town and it was only a 3 minute wait.

The driverless metro train started above ground at the airport but soon went under ground in the city centre. Sitting right at the front was a great view.

We got off at a place called Trianglen and the event was in the park right behind it. Next door to a big football stadium.

It was a special event called Ascension Day which is only held in the Scandinavian countries. I think it is sort of like our Easter. There was lots of other tourists there too but still lots of locals.

It was fresh in the wind but nice in the sun for the three laps around on a gravel path. I just don't run that well when travelling, it must be all the tourist walking we did the day before. I struggled to run 25:23 minutes on this very flat course.

It felt great to pick up our sixth parkrun country, only three events more until I hit 500.

With parkrun done it was off to find some breakfast and coffee at Social Brew before flying out tomorrow for the next leg of our holiday.
