Kurrawa Beach, Queensland, Australia.

Kurrawa Beach is named after the Aboriginal word for Blue Sea. It is a pretty cool name for a beach and surf club. I remember they always had a strong surf life saving team when I used to do a bit of patrolling on the Sunshine Coast. For a while I used to watch all the big events and races on channel nines wide world of sports. Some of the surf ski and paddle board events can be quite exciting in big seas. I was always amazed how strong they looked in the water when I really used to get knocked around and really struggle even in a medium swell. So I knew the name Kurrawa but never really knew exactly where the beach was, I thought this whole area was just called Broadbeach but it seems Broadbeach is like the suburb but the beaches have different names. Either way it is a very expensive and popular area.

Hedges Ave back straight onto the sand dune, they are some of the most expensive properties in this area.

There might not be any beach pathway at Hedges Ave but they cant stop you walking on the beach.

Beach Volley ball seems to be getting more popular and the skill appears to be higher than when I played a bit at school.

Sand pumping and more high rises being built.

Mermaid Beach is just to the south.

The Broadbeach mall is right opposite.

It looks like a nice sunset to finish the post but it is actually a sunrise.
