It’s been years since I last submitted a Wayspot, so seeing data on their activity was both surprising and nostalgic. According to Niantic, several of the places I nominated have been quite active over the past month, with players visiting, spinning, and interacting with them regularly. A Small Effort, A Lasting Impact When I first submitted those Wayspots, it was mostly for personal convenience—a few local locations that would make gameplay easier or more engaging in my area. But I also remember submitting a few while traveling, whenever I came across something unique, artistic, or historically interesting. I didn’t think much about it at the time. Like many players, I just saw it as a fun part of the exploration process. But seeing that those same spots are still active years later is a great reminder that these small actions help build and sustain the broader community. A Smart Move by Niantic I have to say, this email was a great idea on Niantic’s part. It’s easy for players to forget how their contributions shape the game world over time, and this kind of message reinforces that connection. It reminds us that player feedback and input genuinely matter—and that the game is better because of the collective efforts of its community. Even though I’m not as active in Pokémon GO as I once was, I felt a sense of pride reading that message.
