How I wish sicknesses and diseases could be eradicated from the world
Hello everyone in the #hiveghana community, it’s my pleasure to once again partake in this week’s prompt topic. Looking at the three topics, they are all interesting and I believe that we will have a lot of lessons to learn from the ideas shared by writers. In the meantime, I wish to share my idea on one thing I wish could be eradicated from the world.
I have lots of issues with sickness and diseases. Not so with death because death is one of the characteristics of all living things. My issue with sickness is that it comes with pain and distress. Death, to a large extent, is better than sickness and diseases. A lot of people have died peacefully, while lots of people have also passed on in pain and agony as a result of sickness and disease. The most painful part of the whole thing is that those who were sick, and a whole lot of money was spent on them, and they eventually died. Such death is so painful. Death itself would have been sweeter if there were no sicknesses and diseases.
Sickness is an ailment that causes discomfort and pain. Lots of people are in pain as a result of sickness. Many are also in perpetual debt as a result of sickness and diseases. Others are also in poverty and lack because of this monster called sickness and disease. This ought not to be found among humans and animals as well. If I have the wherewithal, I would use my power to eradicate sickness and diseases from the world.
Meanwhile, a lot of people have enriched themselves even at the detriment of others because of sickness. The pharmaceutical companies and industries are cashing out big because of the prevalence of different kinds of diseases in the world. Their attempt to come up with drugs and vaccines to curb this menace should be commended because if not for them so many lives would have been miserable. However, some of them are exploitative and snitches, wanting to make more money from the people. I read about the situation whereby pharmaceutical companies have refused to come up with drugs that can cure a particular sickness; instead, they came up with ones that can suppress the sickness.
One thing is certain: a world without sicknesses and diseases would be enjoyable and more perfect for humans and animals to live in. Imagine a life without sickness, just old age and peaceful death. There are different kinds of diseases and sicknesses in the world that make me begin to wonder how all of these came about, causing discomfort and pain in lives that were meant to be enjoyed. No one can achieve anything in sickness. So it’s only in good health that we can live our lives to the fullest.
