Cleanse Your Circle

Most of us today don’t know the difference between positivity or safety and toxicity because we’ve been raised in a toxic environment for so long such that when we find ourselves in a safe space, we tend to go into attack mode.  I didn’t grow up in a toxic home, but at some point in my life , I happened to roll with people who were very toxic. I didn’t know they were toxic until it was rather too late. One thing about toxicity is that most people find it hard to leave or move away from toxic relationships be it family, friendship or a love relationship. Toxicity doesn’t happen in a day. It is a slow process that gradually becomes a part of your life - more like the new normal and you get so used to it you don’t realize it’s bad for you. With my experience being around toxic people, I’ve realized that these kinds of people never accent the fact that they are toxic and make an effort to change. What they do is slowing drag you down with them and make you one of them. Recently, I’ve had issue with some friends of mine because of how toxic they are. When I spoke about it with someone , the person told me that I have problems with them but after an incident yesterday, this same person came back to tell me that these people are toxic. I’ve had to invest a lot of time, money and energy in getting away from toxic people in my life an at this point, I don’t think I will allow any toxic person impact my life negatively.  It’s best to have no friends than have toxic ones in your life and so I’ve made a mental not to take a step back from these people for my own good. If they are not ready to change their ways and be less or not toxic, I won’t allow them to drag me down in their doings because I fought long and hard to get to where I am today. I saw something today that made me actually made a resolve to always put myself first and I’ll leave you with it.
