My friends always say that I love money too much because I always tell them that my time is money. The even gas that unfolded today actually proved my point that my time is really money and even more. So, one new thing I learnt today is that time is also opportunity, I’ll tell you why.

Let me play things down for you well. My week has been hectic and to make things worse, I’ve had to make the hard decision of choosing one thing over another so many times this week because everything seems to be clashing with something in my schedule. I was scheduled to have a pitch with some investors for my company yesterday in the capital city and because I’m so caught up out here , I had to send an email to let someone stand in my place. At the end of the day, we didn’t meet our target, but our time was still worth some cashhhh!
Then to today, I had my own personal stuff to deal with and as far as I knew, I only had one event to attend and I’d have the rest of the day to myself. Little did I know I’d have to have an impromptu meeting with a different set of investors. Thanks to my most competent work mates, that was handled. I had to rush to the main deal of the day. It was an entrepreneurship program which was being hostel in my current city and people from all over the country were in attendance.

It was a great and the perfect opportunity for me and my company. I was expecting an email of nomination to pitch for some money but it came in late. Regardless, I came prepared. The pitch started and everyone was called aside me. I thought there was going to be a break and the next session would continue until I found out that that was the entire pitch. I wasn’t having in and so I followed the program organizers and presented my issue to them. After over 30 minutes of ups and downs, I had my two minutes to pitch. I didn’t care if it was late, but being given the opportunity meant a lot to me.
I took it and made good use of it. When they say delay is not denial, I tell you my story today couldn’t have explained it better. At the end of the day, I walked home with the grand prize( though it wasn’t what I expected) and more opportunities that I expected. What shocked me to the core was how much people wanted to help me build our company to where we envision it to be. I made sure to make good use of the opportunity and build my network because who you know today, would be your path to what you have today.

So today, I leave you with this. Delay is not denial and as much as time is money, it is also opportunity.
