Dreams, Goals, and the Many Faces of Success

Growing up, I always saw life to be about always winning. Yes, life is about winning but you don’t always have to win to feel successful. Those days, all I cared about what studying hard and passing my exams- being the first in class was like my throne and I didn’t want anyone to dethrone me. I didn’t know much about life and I’m really glad that I had to change to enjoy my childhood and grow up to be an adult. Not everyone gets it that way. Some people become adults when they’re supposed to be children and it’s sad.  Now, I’m much older and knowledgeable about the ways of life and I know what I want. I wasn’t that kid that needed someone to tell me what to do. I always knew what I wanted and what I had to do to get it. On occasions I didn’t know what to do, I consulted with adults to get a sense of direction. This was something I learnt from my parents at a tender age and I must say, it has elevated me to higher levels in life. With the experiences I’ve had from my few years of doing this adult thing, I will say that life for me is more about having my peace of mind. I love to win- everyone does- and I love to know that I’m headed somewhere in anything I’m doing. But once it’s at the expense of my peace of mind, be sure to have me step out. I’ve always had my life long dreams, which were to travel the world, to have a great career and to be able to live happily and comfortably with my family and loved ones. Nothing complicated.  I thank God for good and supportive people around me, I’m way ahead on my professional career journey. The journey has been tough,and long, but I’m almost there- for that I know. I didn’t have to change career paths along the way, I only had to take the long route to get to my destination and that doesn’t really hurt. Speaking of money, I’m a huge lover of money and I always love to have a lot of money. If there’s one thing I’ve learnt, it’s that money isn’t everything. It’s just a part of the larger picture. One of my goals is to have money, lots of it. The kind that stops nonsense and get you in rooms you never imagined. If my convections can’t get me there, money money should be able to. That’s the money goal.  I guess that’s it for mI just want to have a good life, with a great career, lovely family and money. That’s not too much to ask for and I know God will do it for me the way he has done for others. - - - all images belong to me. - - -
