Keep It Clean, Keep It Safe

Cleanliness they say is next to Godliness but unfortunately, some of our brothers and sisters don’t want to choose the path of God. Tell me why a grown as person would sit in public and pick their nose or even eat and dump their refuse anywhere that pleases them.  Back in the university, my friends used to call me Madam gold because I didn’t like dirt. I am not a dirty person and anything that makes me or my environment not clean is a no no for me. I remember those days I used to sweep the entire general kitchen in our hostel when I wanted to cook. Others would just sweep the area they would use but I felt so nauseated I had to sweep the entire kitchen. Really, it doesn’t take much to keep you and your environment tidy. Growing up, we were taught to wash our hands frequently in school and we practiced it for as long as I can remember. Then all of a sudden, we stopped. Then Covid hit us and we went back to pick something we should have been doing all along which is hand washing. Today, I see a lot of people washing their hands even though the number has reduced since the issue of Covid subsided.  Personally, how I maintain personal hygiene is a lot but the basics include brushing my teeth and bathing so I wouldn’t kill someone with stench. Wearing clean and ironed clothes, and making sure to use my deodorant and spray so I can confuse my enemies with my sweet scent. When it comes to maintaining sanitation around me, I make sure to sweep my surroundings and keep my space clean and in order at all times. Not dumping refuse anywhere I wish to but rather keeping it in a trash can and disposing it properly and generally looking out for anything that would make my environment untidy so I can get rid of it. This may sound like a lot but it really isn’t much. It’s really tiring being a messy person and living in an untidy environment because you’re indirectly putting yourself and others at risk. Cleanliness is very important and I believe it’s a virtue that we all need to learn and make a part of us. - - - all images belong to me. - - -
