Ghana my country is known for so many good things as far as I know. I grew up learning about our history and how my country is very rich in natural resources to the extent that other countries depend on us for some of their natural resources such as gold, bauxite, cocoa and Shea.

For so long, I had wanted to leave Ghana and visit other countries just to have a feel of what it felt like to be away from my own country. My dream actually came through after I had the opportunity to visit a number of countries to have fun whole also experiencing their culture. What I can say from all these experiences is the fact that every country, like every individual is unique in its own way. What makes Ghana different wouldn’t be the same thing that makes Nigeria or even Egypt stand out.
Every country has what it is know for, both good and bad. It can be the people, the food or even how they handle things over there. For my country Ghana, I would say one good thing that everyone knows and loves about us is our hospitality. When it comes to hospitality, there’s no challenging us. I’m not being bias, it’s actually a fact that Ghanaians are very very and extra hospitable and I’ve even experienced it on numerous occasions.

I can remember vividly those days my grandfather used to accommodate strangers who were travelling and didn’t know their way around the country and even those who didn’t have a place to stay. We’ve had someone stay with us for over 4 years just to complete his university studies. He was a young man from one of these Francophile countries and we took him in as our own, cared for him and lived with him until he completed his studies . People even thought he was a relative of ours which he wasn’t. After he left, we still kept the bond strong, we comes back to visit, calls to check up and even some of my family also go and visit him in his own country. This is a trait of Ghanaians no own can deny or take away from us.

As for bad things about my country, I don’t think there’s really anything as such. Maybe , I haven’t actually heard or come across such but I know that there can’t be good without bad. I probably just haven’t heard people from other countries talk bad about my country. I’ve been to many places and not for once did I hear anyone leave a negative comment about Ghanaians. If someone or anyone has heard of any negative comments about Ghanaians, do let me know please. Maybe I can convince you otherwise.
Let me not end without talking about our signature jollof rice. When you visit Ghana, make sure to have you some Ghanaian jollof and you won’t regret it.
