November update

I’ve no idea where October went or many of the months before it, this year, as far as work is concerned has been something of a slog. It’s been a challenging year to date, mainly good challenges I’m glad to report. I’ve now been finally recognised as a Senior Full Stack developer, they’ve taken their time and I’m hopeful that pay reviews in the new year reflect that. We live in an ever increasing expensive world and the UK is no exception.

Hive on the other hand, as you all know, has dropped like a stone but just want to say, that I’m not giving up on this platform. I did for awhile step back a little bit because I felt like I’ve nothing to write about which is not true I’ve a heck of a lot to write about.

That’s why, starting today, I’m going to get into the habit of posting something each day. I’ve got a backlog of photos that I can commit to posts. I want to contribute more to the #worldmappin project via my own #churchproject and a new one I’m calling #interestingbuildings

Whilst I’ve not had enough to #hpud today I’m going to have a go at this month’s #hpum by writing a post daily and powering them up 100%

My hive power sits at 4522 currently, my next step is clearly 5000, can I reach that this year?

The question is, how do you write daily? I’ve a method of my own that’s worked in the past and that’s to keep taking notes, write stuff down as soon as you can, a journaling approach and then cut and paste those pieces of text into posts.

The other way is to maintain a large number of drafts, posts that you might nurture over a longer period of time and you get to a point where it’s much easier to publish them day by day.

I’m currently maintaining a Substack project alongside this one. A lot of people are jumping ship for various reasons but tend to move to Ghost or Patreon. Could we shift them to Hive?

Have a great weekend and happy HPUD!
