Warm greetings to my great community how are you all doing today I hope you all are doing wonderfully well.

Today my daughter who is just six years remain of when I was learning how to cook. During my days, when I was ten my mother taught me how to cook she started with cooking beans, okra soup and white rice.

One day she was in a hurry to go to women's meeting and she ask my to prepare beans and ripe plantains, I told that I have not learn that one, she now says since I can prepare beans, once my beans is done but still have a little water left I should add my peel plantains. With this process i learn how to cook beans and ripe plantains.

Growing up has a lot of fun characters, when my mother left i called so many of my friends to help me cook, we did division of labour this one will be selecting beans, and other one will be peeling plantains, the other will be pouring pepper, the other one will be peeling onions and the work was going smoothly so to enable us play as much as we want because other of my friends, there parents are out.

We were very fast in cooking the meal so I have to quickly sweep the kitchen, wash the neat plate we now went out to play.

After playing we were very hungry we now rush back to my house, I brought out the pot of my ripe plantains and beans we ate to our satisfaction because this meal is a very sweet one with or without ingredients you will enjoy it after eating we remain little so I kept that one for my mother, after a short while my longer throat would not let me leave the remaining one for my mother.

I went back go and I ate everything wash my pot and keep, after some minutes my mother came back very hungry and she was expecting me to bring out the food I prepared.

I don't know what to do I first and ask one stupid question, Mummy are you hungry? My mother shouted comeon go inside I get my food to eat. I don't know what to do ,I summon courage I went to where she is sitting I explain my story to her, she was very angry that she hold me very strong, drag me to where she will get cane and she flogged me very well.

At first when I was explaining my story she taught I was joking until the story became very interesting and serious. She was very angry and upset with my attitude and felt disappointed. One thing about our Nigeria mother is they can flog once you misbehave.

With the anger in her she flogged me very well and ever since then I have learn how to cook food, eat and remain that taught me a very big lesson and this was the first time my mother flogged me and the last because I behaved myself and learnt some lessons.
