Hello Hive friends! I am back with another post from my recent trip to Crete, Greece and today I want to share with you some photos of a lovely city called Chania!
We arrived at the island on Monday, September 4th and first week of our stay we were not that lucky when it came to weather - it was cloudy and some days waves were present together with colder water so swimming wasn't that enjoyable. However, we still went to the beach on most days and we took advantage of the pleasant evenings to visit city of Chania.

Every time we visited Chania, it was just the Old City/Port area where the most happenings are anyway and I think it's the busiest part of Chania. There's a lot of restaurants in this area together with bars and clubs. Of course, there's also plenty of souvenir shops as well as ceramic shops and similar kinds of workshops. In one of my next posts I will share photos of Chania I took during the day so you will be able to see cute little streets and more details of the city...

Walking around the Old town, you can notice different cultural influences that left mark on Chania mostly Venetian and Ottoman but also traditional Cretan. It is an interesting mix that gives this city a lot of charm.
Chania promenade looks beautiful during the day but especially during night! Chania gulf makes this area very picturesque and ideal for walks, having dinner or drinks at one of the many restaurants/bars. It is also very colorful and vibrant, photos doesn't do the justice of this beauty.
Even though it was beginning of September city was still very much alive! There was a decent number of tourists but that's not a surprise since Crete has a lot of sunny, warm days during the year and temperatures are still decent for tourism. Chania has a nice climate conditions and even though we were not lucky on our first week when it comes to beach activities, I am glad we could take that time to explore Chania. I absolutely fell in love with the city, its beauty, atmosphere and vibe and I hope I'll get a chance to visit again and maybe spend more time there.
