Just now I noticed that my Hal Jordan Green Lantern figures started congregating over my iPad. Believe it or not, they did this partly of their own volition. Could they be gaining a life of their own?!?
The brands and lines of the figures from left to right are: DC Icons; DC Essentials; Mattel Movie Masters Green Lantern movie version; DC Collectibles Greg Capullo Designer Series; a custom McFarlane featuring a John Stewart body and repainted Superman head; and McFarlane Parallax. At the back is a McFarlane DC vs Vampires figure. As previously mentioned, all are Hal Jordan.
I didn't include the DC Universe Classics version and the ugly McFarlane version with gorilla arms and small feet. I also did not include another version of the latter; that one is more tolerable because the glossy paint distracts me from the ugly proportions. I might feature that soon.
I started missing these Jordan figures because I was just reminded of a personal favorite Green Lantern storyline, the six-issue mini-series Emerald Dawn. Aside from the story, it was also very beautifully illustrated by M. D. Bright. Its part 2 was not as good, though Bright's artwork is as stellar as the first.
Sadly, Bright already passed away. Which makes me think that I might want to visit some of his other works. Hmmm.
