WICKED WEEKENDS

Hello Welcome to my blog..

r1ly1u2sbr.png SOURCE For my love for Detective movies and Mystery, i recently got addicted to INVESTIGATION DISCOVERY and Wicked Weekend is a series of stories aired during the weekends. A tv station that airs real life murder stories and how the murderers were caught. It's so shocking the type of world we live in and the type of individuals that we come across. One particular story touched me alot and i have been thinking about it.

iepntsv17i.png SOURCE A young gamer, Breck Badner, 14, was groomed to his death in London by an 18 year old cold blooded killer, Lewis Daynes. Breck met Lewis online, on the later's server where they all played video games. Lewis groomed Breck for months, causing him to isolate himself from family and friends. Lewis pretended to be a millionaire, working undercover as a software enginner for the United States. His lies were so convincing that Breck started looking up to him. Months later Breck finally went to visit his mentor and he was murdered in cold blood.

4syoyrh8tn.png SOURCE According to the documentary, Breck was such a loving boy, i quickly fell in love with him. He is the kind of son any parent will love to have, his siblings also spoke highly of him. He lighted up the family with his attitude and frankly if I had a son like that, and someone took him away, I don't know if I will recover from he hurt, he is so sweet..

The most painful part of this story is that his mum tried to save but ofcourse the government failed.. For a son as open minded as Breck, it was easy to notice changes in him. His Mum was uncomfortable with this stranger her loving son was spending several hours a day with online and she called the police but ofcourse they taught she was overreacting and they did nothing to investigate in to his profile.. She even took away all his electronics to keep away but Lewis found a way to communicate with him.

Teenagers are gullible, they always trust their friends more than their parents, they always think that parents are too old and outdated. When i was a teenager, i trusted my friends more too, only till i got older did i realize that my parents are always right, maybe not always but 99.5% and I wouldn't have made some mistakes if only I talked/listened to them. Unfortunately Breck is dead and he can't learn his mistakes. But his parents started a foundation, The Breck Foundation to educate young people on Online dangers.

For someone to plan that much evil at 18 years and coldly call the cops (he was the one that called the cops after the murder, and he sounded so cold without remorse), there is no telling what he would do when he is old.

My mum always says that anyone that walks into the bank is a criminal until proven otherwise.. But in this age, everyone behind a computer is a sociopath and dangerous until proven otherwise.. Let's be careful..

Thanks for reading.. zmsfx47icu.png It's the one and only @nmalove
