Hello everyone, how are you? I hope you're doing well. A few years ago, I really wanted to improve my English. Eventually, my friend recommended Slowly to me. It's like a digital letter. I've connected with friends from various countries, one of which is South Korea.

In 2021, I used Slowly. My friend's name is Tobe. He doesn't use his Korean name. We text every other day or every other day. The first thing we shared was about culture. I was quite curious about South Korean culture, such as food and K-Pop idols, which are currently very popular worldwide.

The first thing we talked about was holidays, like Chusoek. Then, I also talked about Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. These two holidays are quite important in Indonesia. He said that during Chusoek, everyone gathers with their families. Children visit their parents and eat together.

Then, I asked him why K-Pop is so popular worldwide. Korean idols also share details about everyday culture. For example, women are not allowed to wear revealing clothing, except when attending large parties. There, the idols share their daily culture.

Not to mention, there's the marketing of K-Pop idol-style body care products. According to my friend, this is the case. Therefore, the current beauty trend is shifting from the West to Korea. I'm interested in houses in Korea. They're very well-equipped. In fact, the apartments feel very comfortable.

But, according to my friend, all the amenities in the house come with a fairly high rent. Washing machines, kitchens, and other facilities are also paid for. I also asked about the drinking culture in South Korea.

According to my friend, drinking is commonplace. Workers who feel stressed at work will use alcohol to relieve stress. In fact, some adults even use alcohol to make conversations more intense. That's what my friend said. But some South Koreans have soup or food to soothe their hangovers after drinking alcohol.

That's all I remember from my conversation with my friend at Slowly. I really miss our conversations. But my friend is no longer using Slowly. We don't use any other apps to get to know each other. We only use Slowly. See you in the next story.
