El día de hoy vengo a mostrarles una práctica de dibujo a digital, un sketch de prueba de sombreados. El personaje escogido en esta ocasión es Enkidu de la saga de Fate grand order, un videojuego gacha al cual le estoy metiendo muchas horas. Enkidu es un personaje de 5 estrellas, y ciertamente es mi personaje favorito del momento.
Today I'm here to show you a digital drawing exercise, a test sketch of shading. The character chosen on this occasion is Enkidu from the Fate Grand Order saga, a gacha video game that I'm spending a lot of time playing. Enkidu is a 5-star character, and he's definitely my favorite character at the moment.

Como pueden apreciar, esta es la fase temprana del sketch. Los dos primeros intentos eran horribles, pero cumplen con el rol de ser el boceto inicial, pues solo me centro en obtener la pose más que otra cosa. Un consejo que me han dado y que recomiendo es siempre hacer garabatos a lo loco, rápidos. Intenta hacer toda la forma del dibujo que quieres en el menos tiempo posible para luego mejorarlo con calma.
As you can see, this is the early stage of the sketch. The first two attempts were terrible, but they serve their purpose as initial sketches, as I am only focusing on getting the pose right rather than anything else. One piece of advice I have been given and would recommend is to always doodle quickly and wildly. Try to get the whole shape of the drawing you want in as little time as possible and then improve it calmly later.
Aun con este resultado, el cual era un poco más decente, no me terminaba de gustar. No soy un profesional dibujando ni nada por el estilo, me sigo considerando una persona bastante novata en cuanto a dibujar. Me tomé un tiempo lejos del PC y luego volví, pensé en que podía seguir detallando, intentar hacer el cabello un poco mejor, la cara y los ojos nuevamente. Lo bueno de dibujar a digital es que puedes borrar tantas veces como quieras para volver a hacer algo sin dañar la hoja.
Por lo que decidí comenzar con lo que menos me gustaba, la cara. Esa cara era muy plana, carente de emoción y poca vida. En un principio me había conformado, pues quería pasar a centrarme en el cabello, pero luego al volver a verla solo pensé "no puedo dejar eso así"
Even with this result, which was a little more decent, I still didn't like it. I'm not a professional artist or anything like that; I still consider myself a pretty novice when it comes to drawing. I took some time away from the computer and then came back. I thought I could continue adding details, try to make the hair a little better, and redo the face and eyes. The good thing about digital drawing is that you can erase as many times as you want to redo something without damaging the paper.
So I decided to start with what I liked least, the face. That face was very flat, lacking in emotion and life. At first I had settled for it, because I wanted to move on to focus on the hair, but then when I looked at it again, I just thought, “I can't leave it like that.”
He visto incontables dibujos en las redes sociales como cualquier otra persona que se pierde en su línea de tiempo de recomendados, por lo que tener tantas referencias y no ser capaz de lograr un resultado similar puede ayudar a motivarse un poco y querer corregir y detallar. Normalmente, al dibujar, las proporciones del rostro, del pelo, la distancia de ojos, el tamaño o si estos están centrados o no, son cosas que suman al dibujo cuanto mejor las haces. Siempre que me despego un rato de un dibujo y luego vuelvo, le termino encontrando mínimo 3 fallos de proporciones, la mayoría de las veces.
Luego de ver el sketch prácticamente terminado, quise hacer una cosa más, añadirle sombreado. No tenía ganas de pintarlo, no tengo ganas de pintarlo todavía, quizá mi PC explote en el proceso. Pero al menos quería hacerle un sombreado para intentar cosas nuevas, después de todo, ahora estaba contento con el resultado.
I've seen countless drawings on social media, just like anyone else who gets lost in their recommended timeline, so having so many references and not being able to achieve a similar result can help motivate you a little and make you want to correct and refine your work. Normally, when drawing, the proportions of the face, the hair, the distance between the eyes, their size, and whether or not they are centered are things that add to the drawing the better you do them. Whenever I take a break from a drawing and then come back to it, I end up finding at least three flaws in the proportions, most of the time.
After seeing the sketch practically finished, I wanted to do one more thing: add shading. I didn't feel like painting it, I still don't feel like painting it, maybe my PC will explode in the process. But at least I wanted to add some shading to try new things. After all, I was happy with the result now.
Empecé por el rostro, suelo ver distintos tipos de sombreados en dibujos en Twitter o Instagram por lo que quería intentar algo similar, un sombreado que cubriera la mitad del rostro.
I started with the face. I often see different types of shading in drawings on Twitter or Instagram, so I wanted to try something similar, a shading that covered half of the face.
Para terminar, añadí sombras en el resto del dibujo, intentando que la luz viniera de un solo lado y etc. Me gustó, no suelo hacer este tipo de sombreados, soy bastante simple a la hora de dibujar, probablemente intenté hacer cosas así próximamente. ¡De momento agradezco a quien se detuviera a ver y apoyar mi publicación, sin más que decir, Nobunaga-san se despide!
Finally, I added shadows to the rest of the drawing, trying to make the light come from one side only, etc. I liked it. I don't usually do this kind of shading; I'm pretty simple when it comes to drawing. I'll probably try to do things like this again soon.
