Louise has escaped from her coven and taken refuge in a small town where she lives hidden in a theater and survives by stealing. Her friends are all half-criminals, and another hidden witch like her, Coco, one evening decides to steal a magic ring kept by one of the local nobles. Meanwhile, Reid, dutiful and faithful to his duty, serves the bishop with blind faith, and when the church learns of this attack through an anonymous source, they immediately mobilize to protect the nobleman's assets. There will be various action scenes, including thefts, but our Lou will emerge almost unscathed and with an even deeper contempt for the chasseurs, and the same goes for Reid for the witches.
Reid has dedicated his life to serving the bishop and fighting the witches, and indeed some of them are quite cruel, reducing men to suffering puppets and killing without mercy. But not all are like this, so the "good" witches are forced into hiding, lest they be burned at the stake by the chasseurs. The war between witches and chasseurs has been going on for years, as have the witches' attempts to kill the king, who is considered a danger to the covens.
