Hi! We had a short break with SteemProjects but don't worry - we are still working on updating it. This is our next report.

Maybe you didn't notice but some time ago we have divided all Steem Interface projects into two groups - Generic and Specialized. The single word "interface" was too general for all projects in this category and it was difficult to separate "alternatives for Steemit or Busy where all Steem blockchain posts can be seen" from "portals focused only on one type of content or even on one tag/topic/category".

So if we need to sort all interfaces, that's also a good opportunity to update their statuses. And, you should realize that a lot had happen since some of these projects were added to SteemProjects.

Specialized Interfaces

Important note: You will find out, that many services listed bellow is not live anymore or basically have been abandoned. Should we be worried about that? Well... we need to understand that the majority of software projects fails and this is not new. In my opinion, in crypto space, it is even more difficult. To give you some comparison, if you would analyze projects build on top of Ethereum blockchain, you could find out that ~25% of them are abandoned, broken... or still just a concept and not a real product.

Should we list all those broken/abandoned projects? In our opinion - YES. We believe that this is very important to keep a record of the history of our ecosystem even if sometimes this means that we need to keep the record of failures as well. We believe that each failed projects is a lesson learned and learning is very important when you want to grow. To leverage an experience learned in such a hard way, we do whatever we can to keep an information whether a projects is/was open source... because a source code even from a failed project can be very valuable to new developers, because they can learn from this code, reuse it... or even resurrect a project.
