Rugby, an English sport with a New Zealand stamp
Today's challenge is extremely interesting, because it sets me to write about a sport of which I know absolutely nothing. I don't even know the mechanics of how it works, let alone its regulations. The main reference I have of this sport, comes from a wonderful and epic movie known as Invictus based on the biographical work of Nelson Mandela and how he used Rugby as a symbol of unity in South Africa; but beyond that I am a neophyte in many things of that game.
Another element that makes rugby particularly famous today is the incorporation of rituals of the indigenous inhabitants of New Zealand such as the Maori. In that country there has been a fusion of the sport of English origin with indigenous rituals, resulting in the incorporation of the famous Haka. Today this dance is a characteristic symbol of Rugby. It has been so widespread worldwide that many people associate this dance as a fundamental part of the prelude to the match. In some cases it is attributed magical powers.
Rugby is of course a very contact and action sport. One of the things that also influences its massification is the extreme training to which its players are subjected. This sport has broken false beliefs that the player who trains weights and does weight training exercises is slow and clumsy. In this sport it is fundamental that the person combines the use of strength with the ability to run and evade the opponent. Undoubtedly, rugby is a very demanding sport and requires a high level of physical and mental preparation.

El Rugby deporte inglés con sello neozelandés
Este reto de hoy es sumamente interesante, porque me pone a escribir sobre un deporte del cual no conozco absolutamente nada. Desconozco de la mecánica de funcionamiento y mucho menos de su reglamentación. La principal referencia que tengo de este deporte, proviene de una maravillosa y épica película conocida como Invictus basada en la obra biográfica de Nelson Mandela y de cómo utilizó el Rugby como un símbolo de unidad en Sudáfrica; pero más allá de eso soy un neófito en muchas cosas de ese juego.
Otro elemento que hace hoy particularmente famoso al rugby es la incorporación de unos rituales de habitantes autóctonos de la Nueva Zelanda cómo son los maoríes. En ese país se ha dado la fusión del deporte de origen inglés con rituales indígenas trayendo como consecuencia la incorporación a la famosa Haka. Hoy en día esta danza es símbolo característico del Rugby. Ha sido tanto su difusión mundial que mucha gente asocia esta danza como parte fundamental del preludio del partido. En algunos casos se le atribuye poderes mágicos.
El rugby por supuesto es un deporte de mucho contacto y de acción. Una de las cosas que también influye en su masificación son los entrenamientos extremos a cuáles son sometidos sus jugadores. Este deporte ha roto falsas creencias de que el jugador que entrena pesas y hace ejercicios de musculación es lento y torpe. En este deporte es fundamental que la persona combine mucho el uso de la fuerza con la habilidad de correr y evadir al contrario. Sin duda alguna el rugby es un deporte de mucha exigencia y de alto nivel de preparación física y mental.
