Game Changers: 7 Fresh Rulesets for the Splinterlands Arena

Hey everyone, just a small Splinterlands post from me this time, since almost all of my battle energy in Modern has been drained and @davemccoy made this announcement yesterday, I think it's cool to think about what else we could include in our daily battles, here is the announcement.

When I think about it, this could have easily been a @thepeoplesguild challenge to make a cool post about, like they had in the past.

I think the Splinterlands team is doing great improvements and I love seeing new rule sets and abilities being added to the game every now and then, it spices up our daily grinds between the big shifts in meta when a new set comes out, here are some ideas that I think will be cool to include in our battles:


Weight of Power

Monsters with 7+ mana cost get +1 to all stats, but monsters with 4 or less mana cost lose -1 to all stats, favoring playing a couple of big monsters so in a way it's the opposite of the Little League ruleset.


Vengeful Spirits

When a monster dies, it deals damage equal to half its attack (rounded up) to the enemy monster that killed it, this makes a line-up with high attack monsters more favorable.


Dragonstorm

If a Dragon summoner is chosen, all their monsters gain +1 Speed and +1 Attack of their type (melee, ranged, or magic). In my opponion, Dragon has always been the special splinter, but it's kinda lost it's flair with the dual element archons, this is a cool way to give some extra strength to the dragons once again.


Echoes of the Rift

Monsters may activate their abilities twice per trigger (Opportunity hits two targets, Heal heals twice, Retaliate can strike twice) so in a way this gives the Echo ability to everyone.


Attrition War

Healing and armor repair are 50% less effective. Long battles become harder to sustain.


Backlash

Monsters that miss an attack take 2 damage (true damage). Speed and Accuracy becomes critical.


Exploding Corpses

When a monster dies, it explodes, dealing 2 damage to adjacent monsters, think twice about putting glass canons in the middle of your team, your opponent might take opportunity with this!
