Hey fellow Splinterlands fans, welcome back to my Splinterlands blog! I hope you are all doing great and have great success in your battles, unless you and I meet on the battlefields of Praetoria of course. ๐
Time flies by, it's Thursday already so the weekend is getting close and it's that time of the week to make another post to take part in the challenges the Splinterlands Team gives us to hopefully earn some extra money because there are always more things in Praetoria we desire as battle mages.
With the time flying by, a positive thing about that is the game is updated weekly with cool new things, last week we had the option to turn off liquidity bots which was a great improvement, I don't mind the extra waiting time and it was frustrating to battle teams higher level than myself and the worst thing is all the promo cards they used not affordable by most normal players, no more of that! I don't mind losing to actual human being that kick my ass with either superior strategy or just a better deck, it's all part of the life being a battle mage!
This weeks Social Media Challenge:

I didn't have to think long about what has been the most amazing thing that happened in the last week, I had a great fight against a OG player with some very nice cards, seeing the line-up I just skipped the battles, no chance, more on that later!
To find out how you can participate in the challenge yourself, and start earning and building your deck yourself, check out the official Splinterlands post here.
Beating The Odds...
When I was grinding my battles in low Gold I met @oudekrijger with two really nice cards, one of them was Heloise the Hollow, I think this was the second or third time I ever met Heloise in battle, for the players playing in lower leagues and not familiar with this card, this was a card that was auctioned and from memory only 100 cards in total were created, every card has it's own mint number and being this scarce they're quite valuable and very.. like REALLY strong!
What she does is drawing all attacks to herself using taunt, when she dies she counterattacks with her 8 melee damage, then siphons the soul from one of her team mates and resurrects... she can only siphons every team member once because they're getting the 'weary' status effect and she can't siphon weary souls, but this does mean she gets a maximum of FIVE resurrects and every single time she retaliates like a truck, mostly killing her attacker in one blow, only some armor or more than 8 Health Points can save it.
'Oude Krijger' means 'Old Warrior' in my language, so this player is probably from my country or Belgium. It's been a while since I've met him or her, I think it was last in the old modern rotation so maybe this is one of the returning players? Let me know when you're reading this fellow old warrior. ๐
Sharing the battle
This battle was in this season I think, not long ago anyway but with time flying by who knows maybe it was last season.. it's a 46 mana, Modern League Fog of War / Weak Magic / What Doesn't Kill You battle with only the Earth splinter locked out to be chosen from so plenty of options! I mostly let the rule set combination as well as what my opponent played in it's last battle decide what my team will be, when I saw Mantaroth I knew I had to get rid of that Shield ability so Cryptic was my solution!
